I also think this is step 2 of Drury rebuilding the team in the vision he wants. Removing Trouba was step 1.I don’t think this team is anywhere near a cup, but you just don’t get star centers for that kind of value any more, especially under contract with a skyrocketing cap.
Team is still 3-4 major moves away from being a competitor, but on paper it’s a no brainer.
We knew they weren’t going to rebuild so in for a penny now I suppose. Get rid of The dead weight and get a blueliner
Is this a hockey club or an assisted living club?Yea let’s ensure that we don’t have a single center who isn’t right on the cusp of aging out of their peak.
Wasn't me. honest. Thanks for the new thread.
I hate what this deal represents. If it signals a culture change and Krieder, Lindgren, and Zibanejad are gone in separate deals, fine.
That’s what you sort of have to hope for at this point. They’re already moving, so might as well try to completely reconstruct and gut all the rot out in one fell swoop. Thanks for the new thread.

Don't forget Brann is a young decent d as well . It's actually a good trade. I would've tried to get a late pick as well since they were looking to get rid of JT.I don’t think this team is anywhere near a cup, but you just don’t get star centers for that kind of value any more, especially under contract with a skyrocketing cap.

Ya one small misstep, unfortunately for him, could end his career ... idk what doctors were thinking...What did they even tell him?The only thing Chytil is on the cusp of is being sidelined long term yet again. This is a no brainer.
It's not a bad trade at all. It's a bad trade for the Rangers because this team is rotten to the core and JTM is not fixing it. And I'm a huge Miller fan. Another 1st gone, ok fine we weren't going to develop him or draft right any way. Fil always hurt, sure. But he was our most electric puck mover this season, even with injuries. It's just another trade that is an indictment on our organization as a whole. We only seem to get the better end of trades/deals when a guy really wants to play in NY. Otherwise we suck at developing or drafting. Case in point, welcome back to NY JTM who we got nothing for in the first place. If you think this trade is bad from the Rangers perspective, consider our friends in Vancouver. They are pissed at the return and should be. It’s an awful trade for the Canucks.
I can see brann replacing lindgren eventually even if he's not as tough. Thanks for the new thread.
