Rangers should just recognize the poor situation this season sees them in and not do anything drastic to try and save it.
Come up with an offseason plan instead.

We're all screaming this from the rooftops, but it seems like the sounds of taxi cab horns honking at each other all day have drowned out and Drury can't hear us.

The only swap that I could see making a lot of sense for both parties would be Zibanejad for Miller with the Rangers adding a little. I just don't see the Canucks wanting to do that.

Let's be realistic, they're not getting Lafreniere and we don't have any defensemen to give them that they would want other than Schneider.

I guess Zibanejad+Schneider for Miller?

And as a NYR fan I don't think I do that either. Not from a value standpoint as I think it's even, just based on Schneider's age and ceiling fitting nicely into a compete window in the next few years if we can retool on the fly.

Say what you will about potential locker room issues, people in this thread are talking like Drury is crazy to go after Miller. The guy has been an elite player for the last half decade. The only real concern is his age but you've got to think the Rangers are in win now mode, despite the bad year.
Chances of being in win now mode ended when the team cratered starting in November. Add Shesterkin going on IR and that's all she wrote on this season.

As others have said, we aren’t going to be paying like 450 million on the cap for three centers that are born in 1993 (now into their 30’s), so most likely any Miller deal would have to include Zibanejad.

It’s possible Trocheck instead, but I think he’s close to the bottom of list of players Drury would trade.

Then there's no deal to be made (unless a third team is involved).

JT Miller does not have negative Value, Mika has Negative Value
JT Miller is a #1 Center and has 24 points in 26 games in a drama filled season.
He is also the second best player on this team, has been a force for us in the past 3 years and the Canucks do not have to trade him.

Sign me up
5 more years after this on his contract........... amazing

Doesn't Zibby have a full NMC? Doubt he waives to go to Canada. Age 31 to age 37 years left. Rangers not escaping that contract that easily.

Don't seem like great trade partners to me. I also don't see how keeping EP is going to go over well in that Canucks locker room. Very tough situation.
