Rangers don't have anything of value to get Miller. Canucks need help now and the Rangers centers are all crap.
Canucks get a Retained Cap Dump. I can also see the following:
Zib - retained
Lafreniere
Lindgren
3rd rnd pick
for
JT Miller
Hoglander
Branstrom
No... I'm gonna put stock into how he's playing now as that's a much better indication as to how he'll perform in the future. Even last year... 72 points... it's fine but not great by any means considering it was a president winning team and 4 other players outscored him.I'm not nearly as down on Zibanejad as most others are here. He had 72 points last year and is still on pace for 48 points this year with the Rangers where everything is a mess right now. I'd put dramatically more value in his previous 5+ seasons of being a solid 1C than the one year where everything is a mess and he's struggling.
Miller and Zibanejad are effectively the same age, with Miller being a month older than Zibanejad. Neither guy is particularly young or old. He should be valued as a prime aged top-6 C that's having a down year, not a massive cap dump.
But the fit seems weird to me. If Miller gets annoyed at EP for being "soft", wait until he has to be stapled to Panarin and Zibanejad full time.
Completely delusional lmao. I can also see the following:

The canucks DO NOT HAVE TO TRADE HIM, he is signed long term, this is why you saying it would cost this package makes absolutely no sense.
He is basically a PPG Center with all this "Drama"
The NMC is a hurdle. The salary is not. Especially if Vancouver is willing to take back a worse contract (like Zibanejad's). There are a lot of teams with tons of cap space and more with space if they can send salary back.
There you are Pierce, I was wondering when you would show upZibanejad will be the main part of the deal going the other way.
Completely delusional lmao

Do the Canucks still own Kravtsov's rights? Could be a big add!Bring Bozo home!

Probably not, but that's the type of deal the Canucks are looking for.I know they don’t and I don’t think they should right now.
I also think you’re on crack if you think you’re going to get back a massive return for the player, especially if he’s moved in season. The pool of interested teams that he’d be -
A. Willing to go to and
B. Able to accommodate him and his salary
Is not likely to be very large.
I don't think that a straight up trade for Zibanejad or even Zibanejad plus a small add is fair or realistic.
You aren't going to get Zibanejad, Miller/Schneider and a 1st. Thats crack pipe stuff.
I won't even acknowledge some of the other loony shit that has been said on your board.
Like who?
Who is going to rip apart their roster to fit in JT Miller right now?
The teams that have the space to do it outright are not likely to be teams that he will be willing to go to. Hell are we even sure that he wants to go back to NY at this point? The team sucks and he didn't exactly leave on the greatest terms.
Vancouver would be wise to move JT Miller now—especially if it is for an overpay. I think he’ll reach his cliff sooner than later.
As long as they aren’t taking another cliff-prone player in return.
There you are Pierce, I was wondering when you would show up
More Hot takes
Thats my thought tooo. To me an ideal partner would be Carolina. I think Carolina wants to change things up because their current mix cant get it done in the playoffs. I think Miller would fit really really well with what they do and also with some of the characters and leadership on the team like Burns.
Necas is a guy id target. It seemed like both him and the team wanted to move on from eachother in the off-season but just couldnt find a dance partner. I dont think 40 games later has changed much about that despite Necas playing well.
Something around Necas + for JT Miller would do well for both imo.
Same goes for something like Cozens + for Miller

How is the Quinn Hughes is nothing more then tyson barrie 2.0 take going? That's why everyone else in the thread is also laughing at you and that hilarious proposal.
It's always everyone else that's wrong!

Canes definitely would be interested in Miller. Productive and cost controlled and then gives the team the 1-2 C depth they have been looking for. Kotkaniemi probably has to be part of the deal but the framework of Miller for Necas works.Thats my thought tooo. To me an ideal partner would be Carolina. And what's that?Just for fun, Who are the most "Rick Tochett type guys" On the Rangers?
I need to marry the hot chick and win the lottery....Needs to be a #2C and top 4D at minimum to move Miller
A cap dump for a guy who’s been a 10 scorer in the last three seasons and the best player for us in the playoffs, where do I sign?
(And he has 24 points in 26 games THIS season, with all this crap going on)
I hope you don’t speak for the rest of the Rangers fans because, my god
You have the order wrong. Win the lottery and then you can pick whatever hot chick you want.I need to marry the hot chick and win the lottery....
Completely Fair, But does not sound like that from the radio hits I am hearing, Seems like Rangers not giving up on the year, and wanna make a big moveHe does speak for us, and it has nothing to do with value. The value is atrocious because we don't want him.
If we're talking last year? I give a kidney for JT Miller. This season is lost for us and NYR needs to officially punt it away to retool. JT Miller puts us firmly in bubble team territory now with Igor on IR.
We don't want wins this year. The season is already over. We need to be sellers.
At the suggested price to the Rangers? Half the NHL doesn't have to rip apart their roster to accommodate a trade for JT Miller. Its no longer a flat cap world.
But to repeat, you are correct that the NMC is an impediment. Its the salary (and even term) that isn't an impediment.
Probably not, but that's the type of deal the Canucks are looking for.
If they don't get it, they don't have to trade him for scraps.
You don't want him but ur GM has been all over him through the media. Drury clearly wants Miller. Not saying he would pay some of these prices but the interest is obvious at this point. Drury is not using the media wellHe does speak for us, and it has nothing to do with value. The value is atrocious because we don't want him.
