Not trying to fit in
I like the CBJ packages being floated a LOT better then the Rangers.............Not sure he would waive for there though it's a nice thought........
If he wants out? It's already been pretty much confirmed that Vancouver has given Miller permission to converse with teams. Rutherford and Allvin are not going to play bipolar here. You don't toy around with an asset of yours that has very clearly asked to be moved out. There's no rush to get it done in the next 24 hours per-say but the longer you wait towards the deadline the more of a shit-storm you continue to peddle. That's not like Rutherford at all. The only team that seems to be mentioned by Friedman in words live on air last night is the New York Rangers. You don't get it. The word is out that it's Broadway or no-way. This has been talked about by guys like Brian Boyle and Nick Kypreos for weeks. There's only one team J.T. seems to be comfortable going to right now and I can't necessarily blame him. He declined Dallas and he declined New Jersey. The money wasn't going to work smoothly with those teams right now anyways. And no disrespect but I highly doubt he wants to spend long-term time in Boston. That reeks of last-resort choice and he's then even further from his family. If there's a locker-room that a guy like Miller feels can run his own way to grind for a cup in the next few years, it's the Rangers.
Don't eye-roll at the Trocheck & Kreider connection either. Those guys are warriors of USA Hockey and one of them is already about to become the C. I think J.T. is going to be given the keys to run-ship wherever he goes.
because its a horrible trade for the RangersAnd why are the Canucks adding a 1st lol?
how is that relevant to the question lolRangers were asking about Miller before it even came out he might be available
they have zero leverage considering JT has a NMC. Weve seen this millions of timesNone of us know who the Canucks are asking for.
Canucks have leverage as the best player who will be traded in a JT Miller trade will very likely be JT Miller. The team trading for him will view him as an asset as the Canucks will not be trading him to any team that values him as a cap dump, distressed asset, or whatever.
His value is probably lower than it was say, at the end of last season, but when you're trading a 100 point power-forward center you do not lack leverage.
I’m thinking the Devils would love to have JT Miller. He’s a 220 pound, elite skilled, mean 1C. They have two great centres already, but both are undersized. That takes a toll when matching up against big bodies. Plus, they keep Miller away from the Rangers. The njd interest is dubious right now. Hard to say. I don't think it's coincidence that the scuttle gets out there saying heavy njd interest only to have a rangers trade almost be completed later that day and now someone is saying the devils aren't one of the teams talking to millers camp.
That kind of reeks of someone putting out into to get an offer upped, but obviously that kind of gossip reporting is always questionable at best
Youre telling me you wouldnt take a Lafreniere, Schneider, Perreault package lol shut upThere’s nothing from the Rangers that interests me. Chytil is 1 real hard body check away from ending his career, Schneider is not a good defensive player, and Lafreniere is about as mid as you can get. KAM screams Tyler Myers 2.0. No real good prospects.
Bruins and Stars are better.
I cannot trust a man who spells per se “per-say”If he wants out? It's already been pretty much confirmed that Vancouver has given Miller permission to converse with teams. The Canucks main leverage is that they don't have to actually trade Miller who is signed through 2030.they have zero leverage considering JT has a NMC. Weve seen this millions of times

Leverage can matter in various circumstances when trading but in this case it's a matter of teams like New York being interested in Miller and Vancouver considering a 'hockey trade'. If a deal doesn't make sense for both sides then it's not going to happen, nobody has a gun to their head here,

so you are assuming there are no locker room issues? The Canucks main leverage is that they don't have to actually trade Miller who is signed through 2030.

“no real good prospects”Perrault? Sign me up.
And yet they are supposedly not one of the teams talking to Miller's camp. The devils talk seems to be based out of VancouverI’m thinking the Devils would love to have JT Miller. The window is open for the Devils. They’d certainly love to have Miller.
Devils need a big, skilled, tough to handle top 2 centre. They want to move on in the playoffs and other clubs have big centres the Devils don’t math up well against. Miller might not waive to live in New Jersey? And yet they are supposedly not one of the teams talking to Miller's camp. The devils talk seems to be based out of Vancouver
No doubt they would love to have Miller the player. Miller the person and teammate may be a no go. And that's before getting into cost, long term cap ramifications, etc. They may love to have Miller, but I think their actual involvement in this may still be questionable
Maybe he doesn't want to live there and won't waive. Maybe the devils don't have legit interest in him because of factors. Who's to say. Either way leads to a question on whether the devils are actually in on a Miller acquisitionDevils need a big, skilled, tough to handle top 2 centre. Imo Miller is the centre the Devils definitely need to better balance their top minute centres, especially in match up roles against heavy guys. If their GM didn’t inquire about Miller he’d be not doing his job.Maybe he doesn't want to live there and won't waive. Maybe the devils don't have legit interest in him because of factors. Miller waive to live in Columbus?columbus seems like the darkhorse team. more prospects and players of interest than nyr.
I wouldnt trade Miller for Dahlin straight up. Dahlin is one of the most overrated dmen in the NHL.
The reason why Pettersson likely stays is because the Canucks aren't going to the return that they would like for him.
