I love the guy.

But him on the second line was nuts. And putting a player like Roy with him makes no sense.
It's not nuts, you reward effort and other players take notice. Evans is not a sexy pick but at the end of the day you go with the guys who give it all. Evans creates chances through effort, put Roy with him and maybe Roy will do the same.

I heard this same stuff when we had Therrien. “He has to earn it” is the dumbest shit.

We put CC with Nick and he produced. We put Slaf with them and he produced…

If you want skilled players to develop then play them with other skilled players.

Roy and Evans makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I appreciate Evans because he plays hard every shift. He and Gallagher are the only vets setting the example.

Who should play 2nd line center currently then?
Stick Dach there. Give him Salf and CC. Give it 20 games and see what happens. If it sucks then you move on altogether.

Give Nick Roy and Laine.

You really think giving Dach 20 more games will help him? What about the possible damage he does to Slaf when Slaf has one goal in 38 games?

I have to admit I find many of the personnel decisions made this season as disjointed as the play.
There’s just no point to it. There’s no further injuries. They’re still rebuilding. They’ve seen Roy already. It’s already the second youngest team in the league. It’s a losing environment while Laval is a winning one. They didn’t even use him effectively. I’d love to know the reasoning behind this. Pezz gives his all every time and hasn’t played in a month. The up and down crap does absolutely nothing for the big club right now and it hurts Laval.
I’d like at least one good, winning, playoff team this year please.

I think it will help us.

This is his make it or break it year. Give him the job. Give him our best wingers and give him the time to produce. If he does it… great. If not, get a legit number two center.

The season is a write off. Use it to evaluate what you have. Same thing for Laine and Roy. They’d be with our best Center. Let’s see how they do with Nick.

Give these guys every opportunity.

Your reasoning is sound but I am in the corner that Dach is a bust. I hope I am wrong

Evans has played his way into a contract extension, but who knows if he wants to stay

I do remember reports before the season started that he knew there wasn't room for him long term and was expecting to move on

He looked so great before. Now the whole team has tanked.

Maybe’s he’ll never be what we hoped. Maybe the injuries have ruined him. Give him the job and let’s see. We have nothing to lose. If he tanks, then we know we gave him every opportunity and he didn’t produce.

He’s a great 4th line center. I hope we keep him.

Didn’t really notice him last night.
Same. Unless I am mistaken he’s more of role player (pp, o-zone starts on a line with talent) but unfortunately the org is busy trying to salvage that guy we keep seeing on the right boards on pp1 kinda standing there.

There's a reason the Black Hawks gave up on such a young player.
He’s lazy, that’s why.

His injury has nothing to do with his compete level. On the OT goal he stopped skating and just stuck out his stick. He doesn’t work hard when the puck isn’t on his stick.

Did you think Dach was a bust pre-injury?

I liked his game pre-injury. So I want to see if he can get it back next season, even if this season is list. Koivu, it seems, never was the same offensively after his knee injury. But he had other good characteristics.
