Based on how the Senators have previously communicated long-term injuries as "yeah he just stubbed his toe, don't worry about it", I'm assuming his shoulder is ripped to shreds and he needs four surgical procedures. I think this is perfectly reasonable.

Do you trust a word any NHL coach or GM says about injuries? I don't. At this point, I expect Norris to miss at least a few weeks, and will be surprised if it is anything different.

I was referring to injuries, nothing else. So many say they want to get rid of Norris because he's a ticking time bomb due to this shoulder surgeries. Well Zub has been out numerous times for concussions and Ullmark for his back, not just here but earlier in his career also. That was the only point I was making. Ulllmark having won the Vezina is of little comfort if he's injury prone. BTW, I don't want to get rid of any of them.

I think it was on CIH podcast, Wally said that after Norris returned, something else happened to him behind the net and he didn't return after that. I don't recall that play but I was FF a lot of that game (too painful to watch) so maybe it had nothing to do with the chin. Green never gives a lot of info re: injuries, but with his shoulder history, if it's not the shoulder, he should say so. Most fans who hear upper body will assume it's the shoulder (again).

Norris shoulder are def much much more concerning
