I’m still scared every time he takes contact or falls. Don’t think that will change till the end of the season. Going a bit better than expected so far though. Which is nice. He's been okay. I think the next 10-15 games we will see what he is really.
That assist to Batherson where everyone in the world expected the shot was nice to see also. That shot opens up more than just shooting4 goals, 8 points in 9 games is pretty solid though, so maybe him setting up for the one timer isn't as necessary. He's earning his 7.85m so far I'd say.
I'm pleasantly surprised about his reactions every time he gets/throws a hit or takes a tumble. He's been aggressive, solid and not shying away from physicality, which he often did last year when he played very timid. This year is a complete 180 and nice to seeI’m still scared every time he takes contact or falls. Don’t think that will change till the end of the season. Really nothing to complain about.
He’s hasn’t smashed one timers because the one timers aren’t there. And it’s opened up that whole other side of the ice on the pp
It seems like Norris is setting people up more now I think versus being the shooter in the bumper position. On the other side of the puck, his defensive play has looked pretty good.4 goals, 8 points in 9 games is pretty solid though, so maybe him setting up for the one timer isn't as necessary. I'm still not convinced that the one-timer isn't there because the PP has changed or because Norris doesn't want to (or can't) shoot one-timers. I mean, it's still a very effective tool to have and to use, if available!Really nothing to complain about.

The problem I see, is that teams are keying in on that right side one-timer from a left hand shot. I saw it last year with Draisaitl. Even the Oiler have had to change up their PP a little bit. Florida really keyed in on Draisaitl in the playoffs and you saw the results of that. Norris one-timer is there, I just don't think we can have a one dimensional PP. Currently our PP is clicking because the options have been open and creative. We need to keep other teams thinking and then Norris can hammer a one-timer every once in a while.I'm still not convinced that the one-timer isn't there because the PP has changed or because Norris doesn't want to (or can't) shoot one-timers. Last 2 games Norris line has been quiet but it’s also the 2 best back to back games the Sens have played in 8 years.
Norris has really buckled down defensively and he seems to be playing it safer then sorry. Maybe because of the Pinto injury but credit Norris and his line for really helping the team play dominant hockey with Pinto out. Stepping up and playing winning hockey, you notice all three of them out there hustling just the offensive game is quiet recently.
Norris is playing well.
He an still use some work in his puck battles .. he tends to reach in using only his stick and hands vs using his body to help.
He can do better at Dzone exits
And he hasn't been used as a focal point of the PP.The way Norris is playing coming back from TWO seasons derailed by season-ending shoulder injuries is literally best case Ontario.
He's outperforming even the most fanboyish of hot take projections. He's warping reality.
