Probably not if we're going to entertain reality. He will always deal with pain and weakness. If he can't play with confidence in taking contact he should likely retire. His shoulder will be fine.
Well that surgeon spoke very confidently about it.Probably not if we're going to entertain reality. He will always deal with pain and weakness. If he can't play with confidence in taking contact he should likely retire.
Do you know the Michael Jordan of Shoulder surgeries personally ?Norris will be fine now.
Hoping for the "cure" is highly optimistic so I tend to agree that he will most likely not be the same as before, not as productive and avoiding hits. Instead of an $8M player, we will likely have a $4M player at best, part of the time.He has now missed something like half of the possible games over the last 3 seasons and had multiple shoulder issues dating back to College hockey.
I think it's best to assume he will either be LTIRetired or not the star he looked like previously when he paced for 40+ goals, and be pleasantly surprised if he mounts an amazing comeback.

I have a contact that is directly connected to a team dr. The reality is that he will never been 100 percent and there will always be pain the amount of scar tissue isnt removable. Its about Norris adjusting to the injury and playing with it. Its possible but to think he will ever be the same as he was is wishful thinking. 3 shoulder surgeries before 25 is an insane amount of horrid injuries. That effect the entire body. Strength of surrounding muscles, his back over compensating etc. Thats not even taking into account the mental toll.Well that surgeon spoke very confidently about it.
I agree that its good to be optimistic and there is reason for that, but being realistic about it is the only way to approach the situation if they want to be able to react to it and be proactive.Again its good to be optimistic, but Norris really took a long time before he really started to engage and he was only just starting when he reinjured the shoulder. We can only speculate on why that was (pain, discomfort, confidence) but .. Its hard to have solid faith in him rebounding to his top form. Sens have invested in him they'll want him to be a top 6 contributor and they will want him to compete hard. We don't have room for soft perimeter players making 8m per.
Staios was asked about his progress just the other day,Has there been any updates at all? I googled but could not find a thing...
Staios mentioned him ... yesterday I think. He was in Ottawa getting checked out and everything is supposed to be on track. Said they would not rush him,Has there been any updates at all? I googled but could not find a thing...
"Ready for training camp" is better than nothing, I guess....Staios was asked about his progress just the other day,
He said something to effect of he is progressing really well, is actually in the building today, and will be ready for training camp.
So basically nothing, because if it's going well, he'd say that, if it's going poorly, he'd say that
Well, the surgery has a 4-6 month recover which puts him at month 6 completed mid Sep, so ready for training cap has pretty much always been the expectation."Ready for training camp" is better than nothing, I guess....

Sounded a bit like last summers reports.. This is going to be a wait and see. It was on track then it wasn't , then it didn't feel right and he played but did not seem to be all that confident in it. Hopefully the operation goes better if that was the issue.
Hey so this friend contact of yours is talking to a doctor and is effectively leaking HIPAA protected info to some scrub on a random forum?I have a contact that is directly connected to a team dr. Not to say that its impossible for him to play again, he can. But he needs to be very resilient and not rush it like he did under the previous regime. The amount of blunders Dorion and co have is honestly hard to comprehend. So many decisions made to try and save his job and not for the betterment of the organization, players and fanbase.

Did you feel better after posting this? If so I'm happy for you.Hey so this friend contact of yours is talking to a doctor and is effectively leaking HIPAA protected info to some scrub on a random forum?
Snarkiness aside, it’s a valid point though, a doctor wouldn’t be sharing this detail with your friend, and it sounds like you are passing it off as solid information.Did you feel better after posting this? If so I'm happy for you.
There are other players who have had to have a few shoulder surgeries in their young career and have turned out fine.Probably not if we're going to entertain reality. He will always deal with pain and weakness. If he can't play with confidence in taking contact he should likely retire.
Ya man this shit is dead serious, we need to get an RCMP investigation on this rat doc stat!!Snarkiness aside, it’s a valid point though, a doctor wouldn’t be sharing this detail with your friend, and it sounds like you are passing it off as solid information.
I suppose Josh can be talking and that info is being passed, but that would be second hand information prone to being misconstrued, especially when passed by non-clinically trained individuals.

Im guessing it never felt stable to him, leading to apprehension, it would explain the odd way he was good to go but not good to go at the start of the season and the play style.Again its good to be optimistic, but Norris really took a long time before he really started to engage and he was only just starting when he reinjured the shoulder. You're right I made it all up. I love terrible news for the team I have been a lifelong fan of. Please Disregard.Snarkiness aside, it’s a valid point though, a doctor wouldn’t be sharing this detail with your friend, and it sounds like you are passing it off as solid information.
