I think Manson at 50% can get a bit more than this, but if this was the best offer we got, I would take it.

So we're giving up picks for a slight upgrade? Pass. Holl is bad, but he hasn't been bad enough to dump just yet. Especially for a Leafs team who's lacked picks over the years.

???it would have been bad last year. Look at the contracts given out. Pool man. AHL hamonic? Oleksiak???? Gubranson. Zadorov.
Holl has way more value at his price than what players were given. He is most likely a 5 who is propped up by muzzin into a serviceable top 4. Despite a rough start.
Wanting to upgrade with retention makes sense….. the whole point is that you can’t sign a ufa for 50% retention.
ducks could probably get more sure. But keeping holl who has played top 4 for 2 million when AHL players were getting 3 makes sense
toronto has had very little problem getting players to waive.
the only player i know of who was rumor to have wanted to block a trade to TO was Brodie
And he signed that summer

Yeah and now one person,the same one who wanted Marner and two firsts and two be seconds to his team for Kane, wants the Leafs to trade Holl for Manson!

Toronto only has TWO draft picks for next summer(a 1st and a 2nd). We're in no position to be trading away any more of them. I know we're in "win now" mode, but sheesh......we need to acquire some.

Picks and ELCs are too valuable for the 59ers unless they continue to keep going for the beer league minimum contracts. Spezza is going to turn 50 years old some day.

Remember when Ducks fans were saying Manson is an elite D and will be a #1D and said they wouldn't do Manson for Nylander straight up lol, good times.

No, I don’t think Ducks fans ever even called him a #2 D. He is/was a valuable top 4 physical D when he is/was on his game.
Earlier on, yes they did. Every other day there was a Manson to Toronto trade proposal. Surely not all of them did, but it was repeated to us over and over.

Nope that was leaf fans who said that… duck fans just said they wouldn’t move a physical top 4 dmen for anything less than a top 6 forward.
Leaf fans literally made threads for Manson on a weekly discussion…. Duck fans don’t call any dmen #1 dmen… we hardly call fowler or lindholm #1 dmen , and there isn’t 1 duck fan who has ever thought Manson was in same range of lindholm or fowler

Not saying Ducks fans weren’t high on him, but #1D isn’t something I remember seeing. Seems like you are exaggerating.
I would really want to see this. It has never come up on our board that Manson is a #1D. Maybe sometime mentioned as great #2 that one season with Lindholm.

I don’t really see Manson adding anything to the Leafs D tbh. They need more finesse.
