You made comments that you don't know are true though, about the team not respecting or liking him. That's just stirring things up, and we have enough shit on the burner right now without adding baseless speculation.
I’m speculating obviously, but I think it’s reasonable speculation.

Islands in the stream.
Just to go over it, and not sure if people realize how quick. But Jets scored 3 goals in 3 minutes. Coach as I mentioned NEVER called a time out. two of the goals were within 16secs. The Oilers were KTFO on their feet. This was evident.

How do you NOT call a timeout in this circumstance? the team looked uncomposed at 4-2. They looked in dissaray and shock at 4-3, which instantly became 4-4, and welcome to hell...

Who is hoping for a win tomorrow and who is hoping for a loss?

genuinely curious

What, do you actually think Oilers fans on here are hoping for a loss?

What an odd thing to say, why don't you just call out the posters you disagree with instead of making these weird drive by posts.

Can't believe, really I can't, that somebody would pick this moment to state that crap right now, but its Harpoon so you see it coming..
In a similar vein ... I couldn’t believe, I really couldn’t, the chest thumping posts I was reading in the pre-series thread. I’d like to say ‘I saw it coming’ but I really thought that after the Hawks debacle most posters would have learned their lessons. Guess there’s always one or two who don’t, won’t, can’t get it. :dunno: Think of my post as a helpful and timely reminder for you for next time.

While Bear gets all trumped up for being 'good defensively', he sure seems to have a low panic threshold. Bouchard on the other hand, doesn't, even when he makes mistakes. Maybe his body language rubs Tippett the wrong way? Maybe he wants Bouchard to 'act more accountable' (ironic)
We haven't seem him as a playoff Dman yet. Sorry lol but I want him to be our top Dman. I don't want to rush him. Maybe that's why I don't want to play him quickly

Well based on some of the responses, some are hoping this misery ends tomorrow.

Smith does get rattled. Not just Koskinen. The other game as well when Jets tied it up, the very next play Smith was losing his mind out there and almost caused a GA. he gets jittery.

But the Oilers were in full and complete panic mode once it got to 4-2.

Credit Jets for smelling fresh blood all over the ice. The Oilers sunk into a crater after that goal. Even the best players on this club. McD, Drai, Nurse, all panicking. you can't really teach something like that. Somebody has to keep their heads out there.

Once it was 4- the whole rest of the game just collapsed.
Agreed. Even though the game went to Overtime, we knew it was over

I think there’s more teammate resentment and anger towards his behaviour than you might think. Those guys busted their asses for 52 minutes only for one dude to unravel the whole f***ing thing.

Every player and every person has done something stupid in their life at some point. We all f**k up. Doesn't mean we aren't still liked and respected by our peers, or that we are instantly fired or cut loose by our family. And hockey is more like a family than anything else, and guys have each others backs, even when the screw up. I'm pretty sure Arch stood up in the room and took full blame for it, and likely feels worse than anybody else. Were the boys pissed at him? Absolutely? Is it a tradable offense? Absolutely not, unless there are other underlying issues with the player and the team.

It's pretty sad, the radio crew clearly won't have it.

He's having a tough playoffs, get over it.
He had 3 points today though. Points wise, he's doing his job. Rob Brown and Reid Wilkins were pissed ahahah fun to listen to

I can't believe your chest thumping right now. Any other time. but tonight? Thats not helpful in the moment.

Anyway, you can do this 20 more times, again whatever floats your boat.

The ugliest thing in this is that you take pleasure in this. You do. Guess what that makes you?

harpoon

beside, if any us here were capable of learning lessons we wouldn't be here cheering the Oilers on.. I mean that last bit humorously.

I don't blame Archibald for the loss. Yeah, terrible penalty but the team still had a 4-2 lead. Disgraceful performance after that.

He’s not a irreplaceable player and this isn’t always about finding time for forgiveness. How can his next coach and teammates trust him out on the ice in a important moment again?

Saw a similar hit last night. Think it was in the Leaf game. No hearing for that hit. Archie fu**ed up. Badly. But he’s not a guy I’m giving up on based on one stupid play.
Archie is like 10x the player most of our forwards are.

Seen that too. Somebody on the Leafs nailed a MTL player and it looks like a knee.

Go Habs go and then go whoever go afterwards

Yup. Early during the pandemic, he was retweeting conspiracy theorists stating that covid is hoax or it's not as bad as the media was making it out to be.

Edit: that said, I don't put the blame on him entirely. Most penalties are selfish in a way. This was just a poorly timed and a painful lesson for him. He was playing good before it all went down. Sigh.
I would make jokes that this team would probably make a lot of noise with McDrai and 10 Archies but I have nothing but a feeling of contempt when I think of him now. That added idiocy probably helps it stick.

He claims he was waiting for the upcoming TV timeout now that he's under so much heat for that.

Okay but what is he going to do? We scored 4 goals. Bear, who is also a rookie pretty much, played bad. How will inserting another rookie help?
Because Bouchard probably hasn’t given the puck away like Bear did on that one play since he was 8.

He never does. Ever. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’m stunned he doesn’t call one in a game and he hasn’t been a coach for us for that long.

I've watched thousands of hockey games in my life, likely you have as well. I have seen some unbelievable stupid plays made by players over the years. Any of us that have played hockey or sports knows that is an emotional game, and that sometimes emotions get the better of us. We are human. We understand that we will screw up at somepoint, and that at somepoint one of our teammates will screw up. Unless he's a complete douche, players move on pretty quickly, cause they've all been there before. Tom Wilson regularly puts his team in brutal situations, but he's apparently a beloved guy on the Caps. Archie's grievance will be forgotten by the players by tomorrow morning. That's how hockey players think, it's onto the next game.
