Its a testy thread. Don't take it personal about half a dozen posters before you were taking the same or worse tact. timing many.

Don't stir a hornets nest. I would think that to be common sense. (not directed at you)
I would again like to go back to trade deadline where I mentioned something like this is a real possibility

management, coaching and players are all culprits in this and no one single entity, person or play is the sole cause of all this

I think it was game 3 vs Chicago (or one of the games) where we were up 3-1 closing in the third and ended up losing 4-3. How is what happened tonight any f***ing different

Hearing Tippett and players speak after tonight makes me put my head through the wall. On that night vs Chicago and again tonight

But fans have to realize that winnipeg did get momentum from that second goal. This game was lost when Archibald took that dumb penalty

I don't think it was lost at all.

Archi let them back in the game, but 20 guys let them tie the game. That includes Tippett. Not one person on that bench had the composure to simmer it down and eat a puck to make a play.

Just a bench full of headless chickens letting the game slip away.

Islands in the stream.
Pretty much everyone hated the line combos, maybe you missed that.

Not Smith's fault that the players in front of him turned into panicking piles of goo

The first and 4th lines were generally OK. The decision to try to kickstart Kassian was also the right one, and worked. Archibald, and the bolded, is why we lost. The third line was god awful, but no matter what way you juggle with this roster one line is going to be bad.

Hey Edmonton folks,

Jets fan here - we've been where you are. Losing games that don't make sense against "vet" teams.

Don't give up. You'll have your day to shine. It may even be this series.

Puck bounced off Sheahan’s skate

Archibald bounced off Stanley’s knees

Same difference

Mike Smith with the weak glove gave them the tying goal.
If Mcdavid had any points in the first two games or scored any goals in the playoffs i would be saying the same thing but he doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt with his postseason choke show.

First of all; the game makes sense. We took dumb shit penalties for no reason then turned the puck over for 20 straight minutes.

Second of all; f*** off with that "I come in peace" shit.

You spelled Bear wrong. The worst own zone pass by a D I have ever seen in a playoff game. If I'm coach you don't get back on the ice after that one.
No, the context here is about Kulikov.

We've all seen what Bear did. You can take that conversation somewhere else. I've already went through it with a few others not on this board. No point in beating a dead horse.

I hate the oilers bottom 6 more than any fan out there. I’ve been ragging on them for years now but this is not Archies fault. I will die on this hill

Just remember this off season will make us a better team next year. We have a bunch of contracts expiring which gives Holland more room to try to add depth players. This team has the potential to only make it past the first round this year but they are choking. Next year they will be more improved hopefully

I been fan of the Oilers since 1980, I met Wayne and never looked back (Also a Sens fan due to relocating). Anyhow we have wasted valuable years of McJesus and Draisaitl. This team has been built horribly wrong. This should be a near cup winner right now.

The blame starts at the top with owner, GM, Coach. They assembled this mess and is time to retool and fix it the right way.

You know this is normally a convo to have when the series is over but that's now.

1. Holland needs to be put on notice, his moves have been sad honestly and nothing to brag about. He can blame the previous management but excuses are like.........

2. Tippy, one of the most over-rated coaches ever. Please tell me what he does that makes him keep his job? Nothing!

3. Core offense. The core of this team is solid but is not supported by the correct playoff style players. We lack a proper 2nd, 3rd and 4th line.

We need players who have speed, forecheck and play with energy! They need to play like each game is their last. Not floaters waiting for 1st liners to win the game for them.

2. Core Defense. The peices are in place but a serious shutdown defensive vet is needed to settle this young crew. They get frazzled way to easy under pressure.

3. Goaltending. It has been issue forever it is time to address it and stop cheaping out on it. Smith played his heart out this year and God bless him but the dude has done all he can and we need to move on to the future goaltender of this team. A true #1 is needed if they even want to try and win a SC. Smith could be backup but at his age and potential for injuries makes him a liability. Not sure if he should retire after a great season or play backup , but we need a solid backup.

4. Retool. Whoever is in charge after this season needs to cut ties with rfa's and UFA's that are not part of our core. I don't care about records or standings. Make the playoffs and a team built to go far in the playoffs should be our only goal. Think of picking up pieces from good successful teams in off-season where you can, maybe Avs, Knights, Canes and Lighting just as examples.

5. If we continue on this path the years of McDavid and Draisaitl will be wasted and they will move on. They need to be insulated by good secondary players on lines 2-4 , good defense and goaltending if we want to win a cup. Even then is not guaranteed but their are more holes in this boat right now then you can count.

I am sorry to be negative but on positive note we have the core we just need to retool fast with the right piece's.

I don't think the whole game is Archis fault, but good god that had to be one of the f***ing stupidest penalties I've ever seen in like 20 years.

I think Holland pretty much has to trade or waive Archibald this offseason. Even if it’s an asset loss. Canucks had to do it with Gaudette. You can’t keep a player that’s disrespected or disliked by the rest of the locker room for doing a stupid and selfish thing.

I agree.

I'm more done with Archi than I am with Koskinen. And I'm pretty f***ing done with Koskinen.

You're the same guy who also thinks it was Hall's fault we sucked right?

Par for the course then...

The line combos I actually liked to be honest lol. Smith should’ve stopped the 4th goal and the third goal was a bad rebound.

I feel lost honestly though. They decided to crap the bed on my birthday

Sorry man, if it makes you feel any better they've only ever won once on my birthday (New Year's Eve). And they damn well nearly lost that one too (after being up 5-2?)
