Hab fans and Habs front office been trying to manufacture a high paying market for Anderson that just isn't there lmao. I've seen hab fans say they coulda gotta a first for Anderson already but decided not to. I call bs on that. If this guy was such a hot commodity like the Habs front office and fans make him out to be, he woulda been traded by now.

The chiarot trade broke the brains and expectation of hab fans. I remember reading early in the year they were gunna get another 1st for Monahan lol.

Also hilarious seeing op going from what massive haul can Montreal get for Anderson to oh we don't need to trade him right now after the deadline past.

Jeannot is younger, better and cheaper but other than that this is a great comparison.

I like Tanner Jeannot, but you are totally out to lunch if you think he's better than Josh Anderson. Anderson's skating ability and speed make him a much better and more versatile forward.

There's really not much of a comparison between the two.

Anderson is a unique player in this league and that makes him an attractive target indeed but outside of those traits you listed he pretty much sucks at everything else so there's that. I wouldn't give any assets to get his stupid contract if I was some other team's GM but I'm not so I can keep myself hopeful as a Habs fan.
Outside of being a big, fast, physical goal scorer that can fight and kill penalties.....he sucks. Solid take.

If Anderson was really worth some of the prices that Habs' fans are suggesting, he would've been moved already.
Your premise is incredibly flawed, you assume that the Habs are shopping him. He plays 19 mins a game, is their most physical forward, is second in goals, is relatively young, and we have no cap issues whatsoever, We also have a stocked prospect pool, two early firsts this year - including a decent shot at Bedard - and 10 picks total this draft, He is the perfect player for a rebuild and when we are pushing for the playoffs will be the perfect guy to have on the roster. The minute we trade him, we would be looking for a player like him. Hughes would be an idiot to trade him for a late first, much less retain on him.

Why is this such a hard concept for people to grasp?

Better? He is 25 and has 34 career goals, 5 this year. Anderson has a 27 goal season and 3x as many goals this year.

Jeannot is cheaper - for now - and probably wins in a fight. He is a banger that had an outlier season, Anderson consistently scores at a goal every 4 games, makes more, and is the superior player.

what an incredibly ignorant take. Wow. Jeannot is not even in the same class of player. Doesn't have Anderson's hands or skating. Not even close. And I like Jeannot a lot.
He's a better fighter but both are heavyweights in the 'new' NHL.

you need to watch more hockey besides your beloved sens

Do you realize how stupid this sounds?

Hab fans and Habs front office been trying to manufacture a high paying market for Anderson that just isn't there lmao.

Two questions:

1) How on earth could Habs fans "manufacture a high paying market for Anderson?" What on earth does that even mean? How could fans have any effect whatsoever on the trade market for a player? This is an insane claim.

2) What evidence is there, at all, of the Canadiens front office doing anything at all regarding a trade market for Josh Anderson?

I haven't seen any evidence at all that the Canadiens have any interest in trading Josh Anderson. As a fan, I would be really annoyed if they traded him. It makes no sense to move him.

I don't think you have the faintest idea what you're talking about.

Anderson has quickly gone from the most overrated, overpriced NHL player to underrated thx to many of the clueless takes in here

We're not moving The Power Donkey until a few more years.

- 22 goals per 82 games career average
- fast like the wind
- big and strong
- hits hard and can fight
- mentor/veteran
- plays the PK
- 5.5 million cap hit

The Power Donkey isn't going anywhere till at least the 2026 off-season or the 2027 trade deadline.

LONG LIVE POWER DONKEY!

How about passing, vision, creativity and this minor thing called defense, for example? And no, simply playing PK doesn't make you a sound defensive player.

Don’t think in 26 or 27 if he will have the desired trade return

Habs GM turned down a 1st for him?

Suuuuuuuure.

It's funny seeing his speed and hitting get described as elite, when in reality, he has actually lost a step over the last two seasons, nor does he play a physical game; he's actually pretty timid. If he gets hit, then MAYBE he might start throwing some weight around.

Anderson is a guy we can live with. Gallagher on the other hand is dead weight at 6.5 mil.
