Josh Anderson Wears Cut Resistant Socks for the 1st Time Last Night (Saves his Season and Maybe Career)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Players are dumb about their safety. If players were as cavalier with how they wear their jocks as how they wear their helmets and visors, three quarters of the league would be singing falsetto. I can't for the life of me figure out why guys won't wear cut-resistant gear if it's available (or ear guards in their helmets, or proper visors that aren't pushed up).

I started wearing cut resistant socks a while ago for hockey and you don't even notice you're wearing them.

I get things like neck guards might be a tad uncomfortable to wear which may result in players not wanting them, but these things should be a no brainer on wearing given they aren't any inconvenience and can help with preventing serious injuries.

I remember how upset sens fans were when Karlsson got cut, I distinctly remember them claiming no one gets their skate blade up in the air like that by accident. Wonder if they'll have that same energy now that it's one of their players with his skate blade up in the air in the vicinity of another player's achilles.

Anybody who has the misfortune of seeing Adam Johnson's incident is dumb for not wearing a neck guard.

Why isn’t it mandatory? You’d think owners would have it in the CBA at this point for insurance purposes
Players get a say in determining this type of rule change now under current CBA. They have not agreed to it yet.

I agree though, they are silly to not agree to this, but hockey players are always funny when it comes to equipment changes and choices.

I think I missed the part in the OP where this thread was asking Sens fans opinions on weather Karlsson's lacerated tendon was an accident or not.

Last night was a eye opener to every player in the league, Anderson's career was potentially spared, and you're in here about Sens fans.

Way to go Vince.

What truly matters is to display toughness and masculinity by not protecting yourself as well as possible, according to the current hockey culture.

Also I'm sure some people would consider this kind of socks to be "woke".

There's not a single piece of protective gear in hockey that is more comfortable than not wearing it. So discomfort is such a stupid reason not to wear certain gear. At least make the potentionally life saving ones mandatory. Do it now cause it's going to happen anyway.
