Buffalo will take him with no retention for your 2023 unprotected first and will give you vegas 2022 first

Yeah because Toffoli is coming off 2 pretty solid years (especially last one) and on a solid, cheap contract. also was a key piece of the cinderella run.

Those guys are worth a little fortune in the NHL. Anderson on the contrary is injury prone, on a long-ish and expensive contract and he has an extremely tunneled vision with the puck. He's a freight train. If he had a year or two left I'd see a team add him as a depth piece, but right now he fits montreal's rebuild plans
The thing about Anderson is there maybe a GM who wants power forward for playoffs. But I doubt it

Josh Anderson with Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson in Buffalo would be a big f***ing problem.

Anderson and Dubois were on a line for about a month in Columbus by the way. Some bum named Panarin on the other wing.

No interested. Buf hasn't a single player on their roster that could get the Habs 2023 unprotected first.

Yeah, but I'm interested to know what Jets fans think of a combo Dubois/Anderson too.
Anderson would be a great addition to the Jets, either on Dubois' wing or Lowry's.

Cant afford his contract and cant afford what the Habs would likely want for him.

yeah but the years remaining might turn them off if they want him to patch that one year.

in some situation having one year left on a contract is an advantage

I could see Josh Anderson turn beastly on the Pens with Sid or Geno. Like, adding some size and physicality to Sid's line - and getting much much better service than ever before with him and Guentzel - with Rust going back to Geno's wing for some real quality support for 71.

But that kind of cap-hit and commitment for a player producing like a good 3rd liner and with some durability issues.... hard to see how that could be done, and hard to see how Montreal gets value on this one as retention must be out the window given the years and their own cap-situation.

This is a Jeff Gorton that traded off the Rangers forwards in a fire sale. McDonagh, Skjei, Pionk, Hayes, Stepan, Zuccarello, Vesey, Grabner, Nash, JT Miller. Not sure why Habs fans are still so sentimental and protective over their asset. 28 to start next season, this Habs rebuild starting from very bottom of the league carrying Price's contract for 4 more years (the same way the Rangers aimed for a 4 year rebuild that lined up with the end of of Lundqvist, Brendan Smith, and Marc Staal's contracts), realistically, you're not competing for shit with Price at 37/38 and on hook for $10.5M cap hit. By the time Habs are ready to compete Anderson will be 31-33. Habs rebuild will take only 2-3 years? Unlikely.

Anderson to Washington could be interesting…though, Anderson to Washington is definitely intriguing.
But… Washington might also be interested, which completely changes everything as they could definitely out bid both Washington and Washington… gonna be an interesting and heated competition for Anderson

I really don't think Anderson would look that great next to Sid or Geno. There's only one thing he can do greatly and that's rushing when in possession of the puck - and that's only when he hits the net. He's awful when it comes to cycling and maintaining possession in the o-zone.

If there's a player that could look great next to them on the Habs, it's either Gallagher (assuming this season is just an outlier - but I'm not 100% sure it is, he looks broken down) and (maybe) Toffoli. Lehkonen would look great too but I don't think he'd be an upgrade offensively over anything they have.

The Canadiens broadcaster just said it would cost a ton to acquire him. Not sure I see a line forming.
We’ve heard Petry would be expensive. Price has value, Gallagher has value. Hoffman has value. Drouin has value. They’ll all be moved for futures!!! It’s rebuild time.

I doubt a single one is moved by this day next year.

Price and Drouin have no value.
Gallagher and Armia might, depending on the team and the retention
Hoffman likely does, but as an added piece to a package, not on his own.

Can’t happen as Zucker will not go to Canada for family reasons, but beyond that…. numbers and contract really doesn’t favor the Pens adding, IMO.
Reason would be Montreal getting flexibility in one year rather than a long way down the line and Pens changing the fit.

Anyway, can’t happen like that.
