What's he's value to a contender ?

Let's say Anderson with 30% retained or take a cap dumb back

Not going anywhere, no one is trading for him. Kent had his chance to move him and he f***ed up

This right here. Anderson is basically a cardio ice and very little else. If he was making 2.5M then you'd get something with retention. At 5M? He's completely worthless. He'd basically be a buyout candidate if the Habs weren't rebuilding.

I doubt Montreal moves Anderson. Hughes has had chances to move him last two deadlines and refused to deal him. I can't see him trading Anderson now when his value is lower.

Montreal is real small in crucial areas. Plus they have a ton of small in their system, ie. Hutson, Mesar, Farrell. Montreal is in dire need of physical size. Hughes will continue to drag his heels on trading Josh Anderson.

With the term he has left he has zero trade value. If he was a UFA at seasons end then some team may take a chance at him at 50% retained.

If moved, it won't be to a contender, they have enough cap issues. A mid level playoff team looking for size? Possible.

Anderson might be moved at 2025 trade deadline. At that time, he would be left with 2 y on his 5,5M contract and if salary cap increases to 92M, it could be manageable.

As he should. Why anyone in Montreal would be in a rush to get rid of him is beyond me.
