TBH, I'm not even sure the tools were ever really there to begin with anymore, outside of the skating. Feels like he was always smoke and mirors, it just took people a long time to realize it.

Well he has the size, skating and technically a hard shot. Generally tools that should succeed

Just cant hit the broad side of a barn with the shot, processes the game like a 1980s pc, heart and courage of the Tinman and Scarecrow

Looks totally cooked , he can't score anymore , shoots wide almost every shot, feel bad for the guy , he needs to only be allowed to shoot low/shoot for the pads , change his game up , the dream is over

Used to stand up for him cause the effort used to be there but this preseason can’t say I’ve noticed any effort, don’t recall any of his patented rushes where he goes wide around the D with dropped shoulder and cuts to the net, just seems to float out there. Maybe the preseason has just been too unorganized and he will look better in real games but that’s not where the smart money is at this point.

I like this player , being able to generate a high danger shot after his power donkey move is his whole thing , he's great at it , nowadays without a shot he's just a donkey out there , he's missing the net at an alarming rate , last season was crazy and it's not looking great again so far

Anderson usually looks better in pre-season then during the season. It was the case last year and how he ended up on the 1st line to start the season again. This year, he only looked good for a few shifts against Toronto.

He's mentally done.

Credit where it's due he had a good game. Several good hits, a couple quality scoring chances, a goal, and he played well on the PK. I don't expect a bounce back season, and it's premature to draw any conclusions just yet, but at least we aren't waiting 25 games for him to score his first goal like last year.

If Anderson on pace for 20 goals, or close to it, he's movable at deadline. Big heavy forward usually highest value heading into playoffs. If Hughes decides to move him. He could have moved Anderson couple years ago for good return but wouldn't. Habs be smaller though.

Get quite a bit if retain on Anderson. At 2.75m he has solid value. Habs rebuilding with many rookies coming next few years have the caproom to do it

1 goal shy of being on pace for 20 goals, and is on pace for 40 points. Not bad while playing in a third line role, and killing penalties.

Hopefully He can have chemistry with whoever his bottom six linemates are.

Roy - Newhook - Armia could be a second good bottom six line. Then we need to figure out the top 6. That's not Anderson's chair. Hopefully Dach and Laine come back to form.

He's back to his old self, before the injuries. On pace for 20 goals, fought Tom Wilson other night. Physical third liner

he's only on pace for about 15 goals. But he's close to 20. Hopefullly he's on a 3rd line with linemates he has chemistry with.

Anderson playing on a finesse-free line as the speed guy / dump chaser / forechecker at least puts him in a positon to contribute in trademark Power Horse / Power Donkey ways. Results so far this year are decent.

As others have said in other threads, Gally - Dvorak - Anderson is a veteran 3rd line that's seriously overpaid but is a very likeable matchup against many bottom 6s / 3rd pairings around the league, whilst we have to carry those contracts.

I will give him credit for putting his ego to the side this season and embracing the role that fits the team best, instead of the style he'd probably rather play. Too bad it took him years to get to that point.

Leads the team in hits, second on the team in even strength points and has been one of the few players showing up most nights.

He's not worth his salary, but he's definitely done his job this year after having a disastrous season last year.
