I’d be rolling with what ever goalie is hot. Korpisalo looks better at this point to me. I think he could be more of a 1b goalie than anyone is giving him credit for.
It's really all about what game his/their team in front of them brings on any given night.
If the team plays like they did yesterday in Philadelphia it makes the goalie's job easy.
If they play like they did in Carolina it doesn't matter who is in goal.
Really need to see how the team responds to much more talented and difficult opponents.

Didn't make his job that easy, especially when Carlo is falling down for no reason and taking his D partner out twice!

Am I crazy for NOT wanting Korpi to play more with Swayman playing the way he is? Korpi has looked great (for a backup) in his last couple of starts, but a higher workload could tank that quickly.

Crazy how the outlook of this trade can change so fast. Kastelic is great for us, Korpi is playing like a starter and Ullmark is struggling big time, and we got big Dean out of it too. Hope he keeps this up

It might have potential to be Don's best ever trade, we'll see.

And people crapped on it IMMEDIATELY.

I'm optimistic. If big Dan turns into a player, wowza.

This is all good news I knew his play would be very solid with a good team in front of him the best thing that could happen with this is it can push swayman to be better. To have competition is healthy in this sport

In THIS spot, I wonder if it's worse. The pressure to play game for game with Korpi when you're already in the toilet? I would love LOVE to see this turn into Linus vs Sway, part 2. And they just make each other better. But if the second best thing is Korpi just crushes it, I'll take that too.

Yeah but that isnt new for moves to be bashed immediately, while I get part of a discussion board is discussing the trade at that moment, I'll always try not to overreact and take more of a wait and see approach.

Would be really great if Korpi turns into a trade chip. All of a sudden his contract looks like great value for a team struggling in net if he can keep this up

I think the worst thing you can do in NHL hockey is trade a lights out 3M goalie (in the scenario where he plays well this year). If you do, you should be fired on the spot. Do the math with the escalating cap too. You HOLD that contract.

Sway can slump literally any time.

Right, but here's the thing - if we truly believe in goalie Bob and that he is at least partially responsible for Korpi's play, then why wouldn't you take the asset for him and see what he could do for someone making minimum? You then have the space to spend elsewhere too. Either way I'm talking more about an offseason move here, not this year

Do we have a list somewhere of which goalies making the minimum this offseason? Would they be worth risking the chance they don't play well here just to shave 2 mill off the cap?

And in a couple of weeks, it could change again.

Hell, with our group it could change again after the next game.

Looks like the bruins #1 goalie at this point. I don’t even see how it can be debated. This team can’t score. So they can’t afford to let in 4-5 goals a game. Seems korpisalo should be taking the reins for the time being.
