berube * in before doty says hes not ready so cue the hes not ready remarks
It will be an UFA( I think). Berube is a poor option. Maybe someone like Richard Bachman, who I think is actually a serviceable goalie.
With what money?
Someone like Richard Bachman wouldn't cost more than 750k. That's cheaper than Martin Jones was going to be.
Aren't you forgetting something?
The Kings just took on $3.3 MM in salary today.
I ask you again. With what money?
First name that came to mind was Richard Bachman. I dont know how I feel about Berube/Bartosak.
You can go over 10% till a certain date.
You don't have to be at 71 million till something like late September.
If the Kings can't afford a 750k backup goalie, they have bigger issues then.

Day before the season starts is when you must get compliant. Since it has to be there the day the season starts.
Unless you want to play in a fantasy league, I don't see the point of going over the Cap just for the summer months.
Same thing with Voynov. He's suspended. Money doesn't count against the Cap while suspended. But he's coming back sometime during the season, so why bother even dealing with his salary as though it's in play? Because it isn't.

Well then based on those rules. The Kings shouldn't have even made the Lucic deal.
As of right now, they can't field a competitive team. Still need a defender, a third line center, a backup goalie.
Since Richards is still on the books.
Berube is going to cost about 550k ? Weal will get north of 750k(RFA), Need another D man, Forbort costs 900k.
That Sekera ship sailed, he is not going to accept some low end AAV contract. Richards is not going to be a King come June 30th. Trading for Lucic sealed MR#10 fate(he pretty much has to be buyout now, just to ice a full team).
Remember when Lombardi said he had multiple scenario's worked out.
Suggest you try same and see how things look.
You plan for Voynov being found guilty and Richards being bought out.

Right now we can and likely should go over due to Voynov. Now if in the next 2 weeks we have a trial and he is acquitted then we'll have something to worry about.
