Jonathan Toews will not play next season but is not retiring (Updated: Agent says looking to return next season)

He’s almost surely washed. I wish him luck but it’s unlikely we see him get beyond a PTO.

That being said, I hope he proves me wrong. Lots of teams could use a proven winner and leader in their room. I could see a team like the Ducks being a darkhorse contender to give him a shot.
I doubt a player like that wants to go threw the PTO process. He’ll likely get a contract off of reputation and he’ll either sink or swim.

Id rather Lidstrom lace them up and come back to the drws. I think he'd make a bigger impact.

Toews is DONE! He's looking to cash in for a quick buck knowing full well he ain't playing.

Where does he live mostly? He’s from Winnipeg. Maybe he wants to play there? Does he live in Chicago? Maybe he would be a great mentor for Bedard?

Im sure also, but weve watched Landeskog do it from serious injury.

Get his ass in the gym and if he's 70% of what he was on a bad 2020+ blackhawks teams recently, he can handle a 3C assignment.
Landeskog is 5 years younger and isn't really a good comparable I just hope that Jonathan doesn't embarrass himself and what team will he be trying out for?

I know he sold his condo here like a year ago. No idea where he went.

Maybe just Scottsdale now.

I'd love to post the Jackie Redmond bit about Toews here but I'll let folks make their own determination if they want to hear what she said about Toews...it ain't pretty. She hammers him pretty hard. It's on Youtube and I have posted it on HF more than once because it is so compelling.

I hope the Bolts stay away from this mess. No thank you. Hope he flops.

when i was 22 i was aware of right and wrong and morality...playing the child card is weak man

he knew, he was the captain, he did nothing.

these are not debatable.

these are facts.
Pretty sure everyone has witnessed some kind of injustice and failed to take action at some point in their lives. You're reaching here bud.

All he did is prove himself to be too loyal and too trusting in his superiors to a fault. If that’s the worst thing one can say about a person and if you want to crucify him for it, it tells me more about you and your morals than his. (Not ‘you’ specially)

I'll let Jackie speak to you...ENJOY and thanks for giving me the go ahead to post it for all to see.
Edit: You know NOTHING of my morals or character. I'd recommend staying away from the personal stuff, Bud.

I already watched it.

Also I said not you specifically. More like any person. I wouldn’t comment about you specifically based on a presumption, like this reporter did to Toews after he made some comments about his own experience with some people.

If Toews biggest offense is saying something nice about Stan Bowman who is a few levels removed from the actual criminal, and who is currently the General Manager of the Edmonton Oilers, that tells you everything you need to know about how genuine your level of outrage is and where your priorities really lie in this whole topic.

Yep, the real kicker is going to be if a team offers him a NMC so they can't send him down to the AHL if he isn't NHL caliber anymore. That's the real question for me.
This has avalanche for $1m written all over it.
Edmonton, Winnipeg, Florida...I don't think he wants to come back to lose, so Colorado is likely in the mix too.

It's likely to be a minimum salary deal too, so if it doesn't work out a team can bury him with no cap charge or more likely, agree to a mutual termination.

October, 2007. Can't believe it's been this much time since this happened. Now he's 37 and trying to make a comeback, pretty cool. I hope for the sake of the concussions he's already had that he doesn't get picked up. I bet he's in great shape but I hope his conditioning is where it has to be. He looked really gassed when I saw him live at one of his last games as a Hawk.
