Would Quick be open to a trade at the deadline? Kings aren't contenders and Kings could get a nice piece back in return for him to a contender who wants to make a run this year. Quick is back in form and has a .939SV% and 1.88GAA. He hasn't posted this good numbers since 2011-12.

Problem, he has another year left on his contract.

the team aquiring him would have to talk him into it. Quick is back to the old quick playing well. (go look at the stats) Any team interested in Quick would have to talk him into it. He does not have a no trade but he is the best king goalie in history and has more then earned the right to make the call. I do not see him wanting to move with another year on his contract. Next year maybe he goes somewhere for a deadline run. This is not the year ur going to talk him into anything.

Price vs Quick values?

What would be the point of that?
Price has 400 years left in his contract costing 10 mill each.

As long as you guys don't put in a 1st rounder for every year after quick, i don't even look at that abomination.

So Price + three 1st for Quick

Quick at 50% retention is a $2.9 million cap hit. There are 31 other goalies in the league with a higher cap hit than Quick at 50%. Pittsburgh would save $600,000 in cap space trading Jarry, as just one example.

If I'm LA though, I'm not interested in just giving Quick away. As evidenced by several players leaving the Kings and just straight up being better players (Carter, Martinez, Toffoli, etc), there's still probably some real value there. Especially when Quick is on, man, he's just such a game changer.

I just don't know what "fair" looks like if LA is retaining 50% on a deal and taking back salary.

He's currently better than Petersen which really shouldn't be the case but Petersen's play has a lot to be desired. Idk if they would trade him.

Quick should be on the trade board, good asset management. We ain't paying 5 million for a back up next year in Petersen. Cal needs to be the #1 goalie or it exposes a potential failure from the GM in signing him to that contract.

I see Quick as another Carter situation. Needs a chance to win again. Put him on a contender and he'll be able to ride that team deep into the playoffs.

Blake has said the cup vets will only be traded if they want out. They have earned the right to end their contracts as a king if they want to do so.

Edmonton is interested.

To Edmonton - Quick w/ $1.5 M retention (4.3 M cap hit I believe)
To LA - Koskinen, 1st round pick in 2022 draft

Money is basically even for the rest of the year. Koskinen is gone in the summer and has been playing reasonably well. Not sure if the 1st rounder is interesting to LA given their strong prospect pool and Petersen struggling. Thoughts Kings fans?

I'll admit that I haven't watched him this year but is he really "back". Just looking at stats here. He's had good stretches the last few years but his overall numbers haven't been great. We are at an 11 game sample size and he gave up 6 goals on 38 shots tonight.

With 1.75yrs left that's a big gamble to take.

There isn't really much of a buyer's market for goalies left, pretty much every team that needed a goal blew their wad on one already and/or you have teams like Seattle that spent heavy on a Grubauer/Dreigder combo, Ottawa spent a ton of money on Matt Murray, etc. Toronto has Campbell playing lights out and spent a bunch of money on Mrazek.

The Oilers are really the only top team that I think would be in the market for a goalie, but that also means LA (Quick) or Chicago (MAF) can't really ask for the moon. Better to take a pick, even a 2nd and retain salary, it's a good draft year, for a team rebuilding/retooling loading up on picks is advisable.

That's an overpayment I think to be honest. I think you can get MAF for a 2nd.

Who's even bidding for a goalie at this point too? Almost all the contending teams have their starters set, the Oilers are the only buyer I think for a big time goalie at the deadline.

Colorado may be depending on how Kuempers season continues on. The real competitor here is LA though. They could keep him for another year. That said, I haven't watched him this year to know if this is a good 11 game stretch or if he is actually playing up to his past level. He might not be worth looking at.

If that is true, Blake needs to go.

A GM is supposed to give a team a chance on the Stanley Cup on an every year base.

I don't think the Avs have excess of what they need to make a trade like this. And what they can offer is probably not something LA wants. It also doesn't help the Avs are without their 1st or that they've already made such a move for Kuemper.
