speculation is that one of the reasons he dropped is that he's a sub-6 footer, a little on the light side. But there's plenty of time for a kid who's barely 18 to bulk up and he might end up being 15-20 pounds heavier by the time he hits NA.

And there's no denying the basic offensive talent. And that something you can't teach.

It's all about the ELC. Everyone has basically been paid, it's going to help in 2 years time when Lekkermaki is hopefully a top 9 forward that can play PP. Same with Klimovich.

We need Podkolzin, Pettersson and Hughes to be dominant players pretty soon though for us to have any chance to win with Edmonton and Vegas in the division.

I don't think that, even in the best possible case, you can expect more than a single year of strong contribution out of Klimovich on an ELC due to them deciding not to send him to the CHL.

They're completely different style players. Marner is the type of playmaking winger that comes along once in a generation. Lekkerimaki's calling card is his shot.
"looks like", I mean literally looks like, as in their face and way they talk. Mitch Marner is a vastly superior and different player I know.

I don't really see the resemblance, especially the way they talk. Lekkerimaki speaks English with a bit of an accent while Marner... well, he's Canadian. But ok...

Part of me cries imagining if we could have had both Lekkerimaki plus $12 million in cap space...but since that ship sailed, it's hopefully another bit of luck / hockey god pity that they let Lekkerimaki slide to us, and maybe we lucked out getting a higher calibre player than our draft position should have allowed (Hughes and maybe Petersson also fit that).

Can we reverse the OEL trade please? Take back the $12M in cap space, have Guenther AND Lekkerimaki in the pipeline. Spend part of the $12M on Klingberg and still have $10M in cap space (after Garland's contract is off the books).

Acording to koillissanomat newspaper, her grandma migrated from Kuusamo, Finland in the 1960s to sweden, so looks like a quarter Finn like Petterson whose grandfather is from Paltamo, Finland.

Surename translates to flaskhill

I read that as "flashkill."

Good way to describe his shot.

Finally, a high-end talent to follow in the coming seasons. Lekkerimak might be the best offensive player since the Canucks drafted Petey fifth overall in 2017.

No way he should have been on the board when the Canucks picked 15th. A half dozen teams will be booting their scouts on the backside after this one.

Goal-scoring and naturally gifted offense---you can't teach it, and it's almost impossible to develop it. The only guys more valuable in the draft are stud d-men.

And top 6 centers

This dude really gonna spend a whole season puttering around the Allsvenskan?

FIN beats SWE 2-1 in pre tournament action.

Both of the goalies Wallstedt and Merilainen were excellent and named players of the game. For Finland I liked their top line of Hirvonen-Raty-Kemell and Koivunen. For Sweden I liked Lekkerimaki the most.

That line is going to be $$ for Finland.

Nice to see Lek stand out. Was Raymond and Holtz playing? If so, that says something.
