Confirmed with Link: John Tortorella relieved of his duties as Flyers coach. Brad Shaw to take interim charge for now.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Comcast Flyers strike again.

These idiots couldn’t just wait until the off season to do it. To ensure they get as low of a pick as possible.

The team started to get some larger negative media attention, and the PR franchise couldn’t have that.

Torts had to go, but the timing is stupid. f***ing fools. Why risk a late season new coach boost?

This is probably also at the root of it. Season Tickets for next season were probably dropping and they couldn't answer current holders questions about how would they fix this mess before they renewed.

Since he was fired, that infers he won't be assuming a front office position...at least, I hope...pretty please.

In retrospect, they got rid of some decent players (not Laughton....I was completely on board with that trade) to please their stupid ass coach, then fired the stupid ass coach when it dawned on them that it was all a very bad idea. What a great org.

I didn't see this coming before the end of the season at all.

But considering his behavior this past week from his comments about "having no interest in coaching in this situation" to his ridiculous benching of York because a puck deflected off his skate, it is wonderful to see Briere/Jones show some balls. There had to be something else behind the scenes, but either way it's a relief to know this prick won't be moving into the front office here after coaching. That's the biggest positive of all of this.

The biggest negative is that we are probably going to win more games down the stretch than we would have and end up costing ourselves a top 3 pick.

Unless they start Kolosov the rest of the way, then that top 3 pick is safe.

Ugh this is going to spurn a winning streak

Even if it doesn’t. The risk is there.

Comcast just couldn’t handle the negative, and more importantly negative national media attention from his comments - and this late season free fall.

Such a corporate dogshit franchise.

Fire him sure, but get your top pick - and then do so. What was the point of doing this now?

That's his last gift to the team, stepping down with a few games left just to give them a boost in order to screw the draft order. But of course, front office will make it look like THEY relieved him from his duties, but equally short sighted anyhow.

Whoever they hire will just be a placeholder during the "rebuild" for the next guy to take them to the next level. Wheels go round and round.

Will they hire a consulting firm again.
