“@stevezipay: Thought Torts saved his bacon with defeat of Caps & would at least start next season. Thinking Richards $$$, Lundqvist mood were factors”

I don't care who replaces Torts as long as he doesn't run dump and chase on the $(@*%$! powerplay!

Yes, including himself once. Will be the 6th coach in 13 years.

I wonder what the problem is???

And if the team doesn't perform well offensively again next season, clearly it will be the new coach's fault and not the GM. I love how some are already patting Sather on the back - let's see who he hires first...

Sean should get in shape and come to camp in September. This team needs alot of what he brings. Torts was the only reason he's not playing anymore.

Yep. Torts' fault. Not Avery's stubborn inability to grow past his own childish nonsense.

Please.

He doesn't like playing young players. He has had problems with both Kassian and Hodgson in his time in Vancouver. His teams dive all over the place. He is not a good offensive coach. He was blessed with the Sedins.

I didn't watch the West all that much, so I can't argue, but out of the available coaches, he seems like one of the top candidates.

Vigneault will love Boyle. He'll start him in the offensive zone 10% of the time like he did Malhotra. Pair him with Torres and we're set.

Vigneault would love him. Not rooting for AV as the next coach.

Only good news is if it is Ruff I'll probably get to meet him, has a place near my hometown and my uncle's close friend knows Lindy well.

Kassian didn't play because Vigneualt doesn't like dealing with growing pains for the long-term health of the team.

Hodgson was pretty much ostracized by Vigneault for being weak mentally when he had a serious back injury to the point he asked to be traded instead of playing in Vancouver.
Like every other coach, he doesn't like to play players who are bad at hockey.

His public questioning of injured players (Kesler, Hodgson) is a bit mystifying though. Solid point, there.
