John Torterella says “Today’s players have the attention span of an amoeba”

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Someone should remind Tortorella that coaches have the lifespan of a butterfly. You can get fired as quickly as you get hired

I’m glad to have Torts back in the league, but are we really going to have a thread every time he takes a shit?

He's wrong they have the attention span of a goldfish.

Can we please.... PLEASE just f***ing stop shaming young people? Not everyone can be a 50 year old by their 20's and 30's. My God let them grow up. Don't get me started on dumbass old people who are impulsive or the ones who can't pick up on anything no matter how much time you give them if you're gonna have that talk

Why not just paint every player with a broad brush stroke. And he wonders why his shtick gets stale quickly. I mean I could tell the players they all suck and need to play harder and I’d do it for half of what that entitled old man is making. Philly whiffed not asking me to act like a miserable cur.

Everyone’s attention spans are shorter now because of the internet, social media, and smart phones. And every generation thinks the one after it is lazy/unfocused/etc. Somehow the world keeps on spinning and productivity continues to increase.

I think you're right productivity is increasing but so is stress. More importantly, I read an article a few years ago that said downtime where you have nothing but your thoughts was where inspiration always comes from. The next Hawking is likely in a Starbucks lineup right now pulling his phone out to look at it instead of solving problems.
