I don't think he would be the right fit for the Oilers. The Oilers ideally need a 2-way right shot d-man who is a good skater and can move the puck well but can also play solid defensively and hopefully has a little grit to his game. The guy won't get any powerplay time on the Oilers so they don't need a Bouchard or Barrie type d-man for that role. Without powerplay time d-men like that don't add much.

This isn't entirely true if we're talking about the Oilers' needs between January and the deadline. The Oilers have made due with Ty Emberson and Troy Stecher for much of the regular season to date. The Oilers need a defenseman that can transition well and keep their game simple the same way Stecher does.

Maybe for added depth if he can come cheap but I am not sure if he would be the most ideal solution going into the playoffs in a top 4 role, although I am sure he would be a solid upgrade to Stecher.

Only 32 years old and has always been a fitness freak. I'm sure many teams would love to give him a shot.

Somebody will. Only price will be the dollars it takes to sign. Potentially a top 4, powerplay quarterback. Somebody will give him some decent cash.

I would assume he'll be bargain priced this year, so he can showcase himself in a favorable situation and earn a deal in the summer.
