For some reason this bum keeps getting hired. Has never won a playoff round and is the epitome of old boys club, recycled coach who will keep finding a job just because he knows some guys in USA hockey.

Minnesota is spiraling after being a top team for half the season. They will likely get passed by STL for the WC1 spot and may miss the playoffs entirely.

Before you tell me it’s cuz Kaprizov is out, STL is missing their #1D in Parayko and are the hottest team in the NHL. Montgomery is the real deal, Hynes is a bald fraud.

There's a pretty big difference between Kaprizov and Parayko's impact on a game but otherwise yeah Hynes is a fraud

Parayko is probably closer in team value to Joel Eriksson Ek than Kaprizov. Missing both those key players hurts Minnesota doubly so because they're still only able to field a team that's 15M under the cap due to the Suter/Parise buyouts. Injuries are definitely a major reason for Minnesota's down turn.

I am no fan of John Hynes or the way the Wild play but if I told you in October that Kaprizov would play 37 games this year, how many points would you have predicted the Wild would have at this point in the season? I am guessing no one would have said more than 80 points. Odd timing for this thread.

On the negative side, he has done nothing to fix the special teams, especially the PK. You expect the PP to hurt when you take a top 10 forward and the top C out of the lineup, but the Kaprizov is not on the PK. It was bad alst year, and is bad again this year.

BTW, it looks like Hynes is leading the team into the playoffs despite what he is dealing with lineup wise. Aren't there more tantalizing targets for the OP's ire than him? Did he run over your dog? Sleep with your wife?

I think Hynes is a low risk low reward type of coach. I can’t put my finger on why I hate him but I do. He is like that annoying passive aggressive friend that nobody really likes but has just been around forever and always gets invited everywhere ….he can go anytime
