I hope Miller does great but I'm almost ready to write a plaque saying "Should have kept Bernier".
As I posted in the "Former Ducks" thread, Colorado's new goalie coach, Jussi Parkkila, helped Bernier to significantly improve his technique during the offseason. There's no guarantee that Bernier would've had a similar impact had he stayed here, even though I have no reason to doubt the competence of our current goalie coach.
Agreed. Miller had decent numbers behind some really bad Vancouver teams. He'll probably be all right behind Anaheim.
Miller may be 37, but he's still a borderline #1 goalie in the NHL. On top of that, he's only played 14 games this season, plus he specifically chose to come to Anaheim to possibly finish his career (he'll be 39, when his contract ends).
I expect Miller to be well rested, energized and motivated. I believe he'll do just fine during Gibson's absence.
