Johnson-Savard (20-24 TOI)
Murray-Jones (18-22 TOI)
Werenski-Goloubef (16-20 TOI)

Instead of leaning on one or two guys to carry the D, we can finally spread the minutes out throughout all 3 pairs, like we use to be able to do on offense.

Could probably flip Murray and JJ. Idk if anyone noticed but Murray has been playing workhorse minutes lately. Just last night he played 26 and a half minutes whereas JJ barely played 22.

They get an NHL ready power forward and a pick/prospect for someone who has publicly requested a trade. I think Tampa would like it. Of course, it all depends on said pick/prospect.

Play them however heavy or light you want. But idk about Johnson and Jones together on D. I think Murray allows Jones to focus more on offense and not worry about getting caught up ice, similar to when he was paired with Wiz

bottom line I trust Johnson with Savard more than I would Johnson with Jones.

In what world would Tampa do that? Not coming at you - just saying, I don't think they'd be even remotely happy with that return. I think they value Drouin just as much as we value Johansen.. I know he's not been super stellar with them but, with Stamkos up in the air I doubt they're looking to give talent away.

I did say just a little. I think the difference in value between Johansen and Jones is bigger than the difference between Rychel and Drouin.

I thought the impetus of the Atkinson trade was if they couldn't get him under contract at the term and value Columbus wanted he would go, but Atkinson's camp moved on their numbers first and the rest was history.
