I was gonna say, he was walking around post game against Winnipeg. I think it was the Tom Kurvers award ceremony?

The wilderness article stating he had a broken bone must have been a typo

If it's a fan blog without proper sources, their speculation isn't really any different from the speculation happening on these boards.

Yah , I posted the link and asked if anything had been confirmed but nobody responded so I figured it was just speculation.

Guessing he may play by game 3 or so? I'd take that after the original outlook when it happened.

I’d say they are hoping to steal a game tonight and then they can gamble and hold him out until game 3 or even 4. If they lose tonight I’d bet money on him being in the lineup for game 2. We cannot head home down two games.

I dunno it's not that uncommon to battle through a leg injury.

I once played in a game after I bumped my knee on a table giving me a slight red mark.

Me and JEE are what you call WARRIORS.
And your friends let you play through that? I'd have sat you.

Best shovel in the west

Some nice shots splashed in there too, his release has really improved over the years. Pretty good display of a full package finisher right there, that’s a product of a lot of practice and experience.

Excited for his upcoming season, I could see it being very strong, and if he plays to his potential with good health, he is a true difference maker in this league. This is a Selke potential season if things go right, I really want to see him continue his trajectory.

If he can get regular time with both Kap and Boldy for a majority of the season, I see point per game happening. And if his faceoffs follow his career trajectory, he should be over 50%.

Did we hire a guy to help the team with faceoffs? I can't remember.

EEK needs to develop the faceoffs.

He's got the size and wits for it. Ek vs. McDavid in FOW% development:

McDavid did take a step back, so at least Joel has been developing upwards every year.

I think when people say faceoffs are overrated, what they're referring to is the fact that, 49.7% FO% = bad faceoff guy, 51% = good faceoff guy, despite the fact that for Ek, who took the third most faceoffs in the leauge last year, that's a difference of 21 total faceoffs won over the course of an entire season. So ~1 every 4 games. It's negligible.

It's small marginals, a faceoff won can be important. If a won faceoff means ~1min of puck possession, it would be 21*1min = 21 min difference in puck possesssion. It's still 15 seconds more with the puck per every single game.
