One thing is for sure. He's a lot better at scoring goals than racking up assists. I'll take it. Honestly if he can become a 25-30 goal scorer he'd probably be my favorite player.

Just like Dumba has been neutered from trying to lay out any big hits. He used to be known for that, and was a big tool this team needed... it's been thoroughly coached out of him now.

That was before the NHL though and to be fair, he sucks at defense so...

Yea, it WAS before the NHL... and when he first came to the NHL, he showed a glimpse of it and then less and less until it was completely gone.

As for sucking at defense... sure, he was never going to be great. There are a ton of great offensive D-man that suck at defense but bring enough offense that it far compensates for it... and Dumba has the skill to be one of them... yet it's been all but beat out of him by the coaching staff.

Defense is great to have... but if you never score a goal, what's it matter? You won't win cups scoring 2 goals/gm or less like the Wild do.

Yes, because Dumba is so valuable if he scored 2 goals but whiffs on giving up 3.

As for Ericksson-Ek, please don't bring him over. We'll ruin him like all our other prospects.

Great offensive D-men, they may give up a goal, but they'll be responsible for the team getting 3. That's why they are GREAT offensive defensemen.

Every single one of them goes through development growing pains. You have to deal with it though. Look at Leddy in Chicago, he was horrible defensively, but they kept putting him out there because his offense was amazing, and he needed to develop his game in the NHL.

Now we see what he was able to develop into!

It's a lot easier to lay out 17 year old juniors than it is 25-30 year old NHLers.
 
I can't wait till Yeo turns him into a Yeobot who grinds and grinds, hell be damned if he'll get to use that shot here outside of a pond.

Still good to see him surge. maybe we can trade him for two grinders.
