Maybe..........then again one of those or 2 could be in a trade. So if Andy Gally Evans Dach Newhook are staying… Sounds like if anyone from the farm gets ice on the bottom 6 that’s it..
Stay tuned.

Last 26 games of the season (after the 4 nations)Hes a good player when he's healthy but it's a struggle for him when he is not, and that happens often. He was not able to contribute much after his wrist injury, and it's too much of a re-occuring theme for me to re-invest
It sucks because I like him alot when he's on top of his game.
Armia is a tough one to button down. He has the size, shot, and ability to consistently score 20 goals, but his desire level seems to be the issue. When he's on, he is a very important piece of a roster, but is the current run based on an expiring contract or because he has figured it all out at a later age? It would be cool to keep him on a short-term contract but we all know that some NHL gm would give him a 3-4 year deal if he went to FA.
I know he may have been injured but his time to step up was playoffs and he was a no show.
Goodbye Yoel.
Evans is not smallI'm finally wrapping my mind around the idea of letting Armia go. I've always liked defensive players, but they need to score from time to time, like Byron or Lekhonen used to.
Habs cannot have that many players who are unable to score on 5vs5. We already have Evans, Newhook and Laine, no more room for a "specialist", as good as he can be on the PK. In retrospect, I might have preferred to keep the big sized PK specialist over the small center, but since Evans has already been resigned, Armia should go imo.
You over-estimate the goal scoring of bottom six players in the league. Ours are way above average. All 12 forwards scored 10 or more, even the ones who missed games with injuries. No other team was able to do this.I'm finally wrapping my mind around the idea of letting Armia go. LOL, nope. Just a second line that puts the puck, in the net. Demidov's arrival and Newhook's increasing maturity will help. Dach is a wild card that may pan out. Laine will hopefully be quicker if Dach isn't up to par.We need an upgrade in the bottom 6 big time........

The guy played with a broken hand over a pan of 30 games ..... Media won't destroy his courage to play injured ... If you guys would follow the sports news a bit more you would know that!Last 26 games of the season (after the 4 nations)
Joel Armia :
25GP 1G 5P -3 (1 empty net point)
He was 3rd last in points among forwards playing 10+ games over this span. Only guys behind him were Pezzetta (playing 11 games) and Heineman (playing 21 games). PK was also not great during that span. PK was 15th in the league for that span which is not terrible but certainly not great either.
Injury or not many players would have been destroyed by the media and fans with stats like that right in the middle of a playoffs push. If we want to be fully honest Armia has been good maybe 60ish games or so in the last four years. About 30ish of those games last season after a wake up call being sent in the AHL and not claimed on waiver and another 30ish games at the beginning of the this season before the end of his contract where he had to be good if he wanted to get a contract next summer.
It would be hard to disagree more. Our bottom 6 has no positive impact on games, except Evans on the PK.LOL, nope. Just a second line that puts the puck, in the net. Or we trade.
Bottom six does not "need" an upgrade per se, but it of course depends if we are keeping them, and which ones.
Joel Armia has been a Montreal Canadiens for 7 season, and has had problems with consistency, effort and production for 6 and a half of those season. The guy played with a broken hand over a pan of 30 games ..... 4th line was great when Heineman and Armia were healthy. You could not ask for a better bottom line. Physically they are fine.It would be hard to disagree more. Our bottom 6 has no positive impact on games, except Evans on the PK.
Very little secondary scoring, very little speed, very little physicality.
Is the 2nd line a bigger problem? Yes. But the bottom 6 is an issue, too. I can't wait for guys like Florian and possibly Tuch to make it to the 4th line, maybe we stop getting pushed around some day.
The guy is a pk machine, we still need our 1st pk, you shall go instead!Joel Armia has been a Montreal Canadiens for 7 season, and has had problems with consistency, effort and production for 6 and a half of those season.
This 30 games injury changes nothing , he can go now.
We don't make the playoffs without Dvorak-Gallagher-Anderson outplaying their matchups. It would be hard to disagree more. Our bottom 6 has no positive impact on games, except Evans on the PK.
