Proposal: JJ Peterka for Marco Rossi

That would be a good idea because that's something makes Buffalo immediately.

This is considered a weaker draft though so I'm not sure Minnesota would do it.

But if I were Buffalo I'd certainly be interested in that.
I guess there's always the possibility that they have (for example) Victor Eklund as the #4 player on their board or something, and if he's sitting there at #9 it might be enough to entice them. Can't rule it out.

You've replied to me a million times saying the same thing. Until you show me that you're Bill Guerin himself, I'll continue bringing it up because several other people on your team's board have indicated moving Brodin is within the realm of possibility.
I thought a Brodin or Spurgeon trade was plausible to create cap space before Guerin's end of year presser... I still think it could happen if the right moves come available to Guerin and he needs to make space or something, but i think it's a lot less likely now. Also, due to age, Spurgeon would be the more likely one.

He and Spurgeon are the constants in 10 years worth of 1st round exits. It’s time to move on. Guerin is an idiot if he doesn’t move one of those two players this offseason.
oh yeah because our D should be worse, my gosh. Injuries are a part of the game. The two aren't the reason they lost this year either. It fell on Jacob middleton, rossi, Freddy G, etc..

Guerin is doing what he needs to do to make sure D is stable for our G and to get into the playoff

5'11 Vik Eklund? Nice try

Our defense also provided zero offense. Another reason we are sitting at home.

Not sure what else to add maybe rosen and Ryan Johnson? Minnie has a good enough team with kaprizov a retool getting multiple assets back seems fair

Were Eichel/Reinhart criticized of their 2way play in Buffalo? Just asking..

Moving JJ sounds stupid for Buffalo. Maybe coach him instead if he doesnt defend. For me, he seems like a guy you win with

Eichel, yes, and it was very much deserved criticism. Reinhart, no because he was good.

Guerin wanted bigger centers, I think. Contract speculation of course. My assumption is Peterka's agent used the media to drum up interest in him because he needs a new deal. random smoke has become a blazing inferno over two sets of speculation. What about Norris for Rossi? Norris fits more in the mold he wants, and Rossi is the playstyle of a center we could use. Sabres are matching a 9m dollar offer sheet and saying thanks for JJ imo.

I would probably make the JJ for Rossi trade IF, adams were to use Byram to replace Peterka or swap D's and acquire the missing D or Winger afterwards.

Why does Peterka's name come up this much? Why wouldn't Buffalo just want to keep and cherish that guy?
Sabres need to add to their current forward group. They have three high end left shot D. Makes no sense to trade a top forward instead of one of those D. Move Byram or Power for Rossi.

OP is a Wild fan and Rossi is probably going to be above the price they want to keep him at.

I'd rather talk Foligno or Brodin than Rossi.
Well, Brodin is a LHD. He can play RD, but is best at LD. If Dahlin/Power can play RD, then Brodin would be the perfect partner for them. Still don't think it's wise for the Sabres to trade Peterka for him. Brodin is great, and would be perfect for BUF, handedness aside, but Peterka is 9 years younger.

Foligno would also be a good add for Buffalo, but you he is 12 years older, and more of a role player. I also don't think that he would be crazy about moving back to the dysfunction in Buffalo after establishing himself in MN.

Both teams are looking to have significantly better years next year, albeit for different reasons. Neither is particularly interested in trading for futures. Peterka for Rossi is equal value wise, but doesn't make sense for MN because they need, and don't have, enough Centers. Buffalo, OTOH, have Norris, Thompson, and McLeod as good young'ish C's. Rossi is not a need, unless BUF decides to move TT to the wing.

Spurgeon would be a terrific short term add for Buffalo, but the Sabres would be crazy to trade Peterka for a 35 yo, and I don't think that Spurgeon would waive to go to Buffalo(I'm assuming that it would be on his 10 team NTC list). Young, top 4, two way RHD's with size are near impossible to find in trade, especially for a moderately sized winger.

Dahlin is a monster on the right side. They should keep him there...but I wouldn't want Brodin for Dahlin's partner... Dahlin can carry just about any player you put with him now.

I'd like Brodin for his PK value mostly..bu5 yeah I wouldn't trade Peterka for him.

except you're forgetting Bill Guerin said our Dman are set for next year, and after the year Foligno had and is everything Bill Loves, He's not going anywhere either
