What plan? There is no plan here. He gave away the guy for next to nothing. Not a single one of those assets will amount to anything even remotely supportive of anything even distantly resembling a plan. If you want to claim this was addition by subtraction, fine, but that's one hell of a stretch given that he was doing fine in the AHL. If the idea was to further a plan by moving Jiricek he could have at least tried to get actual useful assets.
A 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th is nothing lol 😂

i’m going to screenshot this post for when Daemon becomes a Fabbro type asset for us, except this time not via waivers but via trade.

stay tuned.

(also lowkey can’t believe how much pessimism is coming from you. it’s as if Daemon did something extremely personal to you and you’ve held it against him for years now. yeeeesh)

Sure there is. Strong skating team. Hard to play against. Mateychuk fits like a glove. Jiricek does not.

Maybe, just maybe, alot of the rest of the league also sees that he's not that great?

I'd sooner expect us to win the 1st overall pick this year and next. Fabbro had shown the ability. Hunt hasn't shown a thing. This is like going on about how Tim Berni is going to be a top blueliner for us.

except tim berni can’t because he’s no longer with our organization, but sure.

Why yes! Yes, you're right. Tim Berni is, indeed, no longer with our organization. Or, for that matter, any NHL organization. Imagine that.

Remember when Berni was looking surprisingly decent and working hard and by surprise made the team and looked like he might be a solid depth guy? He was 22 that year. Who else meets that description?

Reading between the lines it seems like Jiricek just didn’t fit the vision of the team going forward. Not a great outcome but it is what it is. Can’t force a kid with a crappy attitude and agent to work hard and earn his place.

Jake Christiansen had even less prospect status and draft capital and he's turned out to be pretty damn solid :dunno:

That’s a bit more picks than I anticipated but I like it. Gives us a chance to potentially explore a few avenues with the newfound draft capital.

No reason we can’t package it to move up or move it for good immediate line-up help. It also gives Don a chance to use some draft capital in order to stock the pipeline the way he sees fit in the future. We got Hunt who by multiple accounts is an excellent skater so we know what he is looking for.

yeah, I remember how he went a -26 in 59 games for us.

I also remember how he had just 19 points in 89 AHL games for us to go along with a -15.

wow. berni had an accumulative -41, 22 points in 148 games within our organization. incredible.

whose numbers do those remind you of? because I know dang sure, that those numbers don’t remind you of Hunt’s career numbers in both the A and the N.

Cool. That's one guy out of all of him plus Berni, Bean, Blankenburg, Bjork, and Boqvist. All of whom were given away for free. At that rate we'd be getting ourselves a solid depth player just by getting back another four such guys to go with Hunt and Harris.

You know, I'm glad Jiříček was traded. That was already like some Mexican soap opera, St. Barbara or something. Now we can focus on our prospects. But we need to right draft.

You're arguing against giving away bad players for free? What are any of them doing right now? Waddell has been great at taking out the trash. Love where we're heading.
