Benning made it clear that they're looking for a 2nd line LW to play with Sutter and take some pressure off of Baertschi. Sutter and Hudler would be on the 2nd line if we signed Hudler.

What he is looking for and what will actually happen are two different things. Hudler may not find chemistry with Sutter, but may find chemistry with Bo, more so than Bärtschi.
One thing that speaks for Hudler is his experience with mentoring in Calgary. It would be quite interesting to see a Bart - Bo - Hudler line. Then let Hansen or Dorsett play offside with Sutter.
But I will agree with you that Benning is looking for a 2nd line LW to play with Sutter :)

Hudler would be a very good target for the team. I doubt we finish bottom 10 with the team we have now anyway, not unless injuries hit. We may as well aim at finishing as well as possible.

If only Sutter was a 2nd line C.

Maybe take a look who still controls the usage of each player and maybe rethink that statement. It's about if, it's about how he's forced to be.
IMHO there is more problem with the actual product on the ice when the games are being played rather than with the GM. This team with possibly two of the best PP guys the last 10 years can't score on the PP maybe there's an actual problem.
Like really I remember when the Sedins would put up 20-30 PPP's now it's lucky if we get 20 out of both.

Canucks GMs: keep signing free agents to attempt to return to cup glory despite clearly needing a rebuild. Result: bad draft pick every year, usually missing the playoffs. This will occur until the Sedin's retire and then a full rebuild will just be beginning. It's a terrible, terrible time to be a Canucks fan.

Bad draft picks? Canucks picked 6th overall in 2015 and 5th overall in 2016. Those are high picks.

I want the Islanders to try to sign Hudler. We need another natural RW.

I want the Oilers to sign him as well . Good 3rd liner . I want Puljujarvi in the AHL . No need to rush the kid . Let Yakupov play in the top 6 and hope he comes around if not at lease you develop Pulju right and have him step in when ready .

Lucic McD Eberle/Yakupov

Maroon RNH Hudler , tough minutes to shelter the kids more of a 3rd line

Pouliot Draisaitl Yakupov/Eberle soft minutes

Looks very meh. Only player with top line potential there looks to be Boeser. Not convinced Juolevi will be a top 2 guy. Demko is a good prospect but with goalies you never know.

Honestly, I feel the same way about Tkachuk. He looks pretty meh, not convinced he will be a top 6 forward in the NHL.

Where did you pull this from ? Is it a little dig at Vancouver fans ? Anyone who watches hockey knows this is not true .

Actually, it is true. Sedins rule as second liners behind a swift attack line. Earlier in their careers they were second liners and flourished away from opposing teams' checking lines. To this day (sadly because Canucks coach doesn't match lines) the Sedins can dismantle any line not focussed on checking.

A checking line can just intercept to undo them now, though as they have no pretense of chasing down the puck. This was clearly demonstrated much of last season. Fans think to defend the twins by braying about injuries but they reinforce the argument that the Sedins are no longer a viable top line.because the Sedins are no longer able to escape contact. Slow Sedins absorb enormous poundings that older players cannot survive without injury for long.

A key issue here is that the Canucks cling to the Sedins as a top line when they should have been allowed to assume second line duties years ago as they slowed. This blocks free agent signings because players do not wish to play behind the Sedins, knowing this dooms the season. If the Canucks were able to communicate to the hockey community they might have built a new top line by now. They chose Trevor Linden for this, a man without credibility.

In short, if the Sedins were on any other team, they be a killer duo on the second line with a speedy mucker and specialist defense.

Willie is that you? Splitting up the BoBae combo is about as stupid as a move as WillieD'ontKnowWhatImDoing would pull.
Also Granlund will play centre over a rookie, also one who has been groomed as a LW.
Hudler makes sense for Brandon Sutter as the Sutter Burrows combo has no playmaking ability on the ice at all with Hansen or Virtanen in that RW spot.

By scorers he means points.

Daniel - 61 in 82
Henrik - 55 in 74
Pacioretty - 64 in 82
Galchenyuk - 56 in 82

If Henrik played 82 games then he would have more points thus being 2nd and 3rd on the team in scoring.

ohhh haha yeah 'scorers' usally means goals so thats why i was confused thanks for clearing that up though :)

Benning claims he's in the market for a big, physical winger, who can score 20 or so, and can give his team second-line minutes.....So tell me again, how does Hudler fit that description?
