I remember in junior he had a bit of a reputation for beaking the refs and fans of other teams thought he projected to be a Kesler type agitator in the NHL. Once he made the NHL it really didn't seem like it was anything like that though.
I fear the Leafs could go on a long run and may have to cancel my TSN and Sportsnet subscriptions if that happens !!
The Jets did play hard the past 4 games, which showed character but a serious over haul is required despite today's come back and celebration of Beyak's classy career even with all his nonsensical stats!

One thing that drives me crazy with him is the way he plays over dumb with the refs when he gets a penalty. Every single time it's the wide-eyed incredulous look on his face and the dramatic "what? meee?" to the refs. I get it, no one wants to go to the box. But accountability with him or something, bothers me. Can't put a finger on it exactly. I love him as a player, I really do, but his heart hasn't seemed as in this year.

Yup if he tried all season we'd be in the playoffs. Attitude did a complete 180 in the last couple years, such a shame.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I was Chevy I would react very negatively to the tone of that message.
There is none of him taking responsibility for the team's shortcomings, etc.
If I had been contemplating trading him, the tone of that statement would be the deciding factor. He would be outta here.

Can't help but look back to that postgame following the game when Maurice benched Scheifele.
Unless something else happened less publicly, it has to be about Scheifele, right?

A home win was nice to finish off the season of disappointment. I'm not sure what to expect in the off-season.

I agree - he comes off as a guy that is totally into it for himself - a player that has been hyped his whole career and has completely lost the ability to be self aware.
Chevy has a huge problem on is hands - I hope he doesn't cave in on this and calls it like it is.
More Scheif hype will only make it worse -
Unfortunately, I do not see this player as one that will react well to any constructive feedback -
I wasn't sure where this was going before this interview - but I see it heading down hill fast at this point.

Prior to today I figured there was a good chance Chef wouldn’t be back next season. Now I’d say he’s as good as gone.

Pretty obvious Stastny was talking entirely about Scheifele when he was asked about the room.
