Pretty good game by the Jets. No major complaints.

Some puck mishandling by Laine, but still a good game. He needs to have more accuracy on his shots though. I have never seen Wheeler to mishandle puck 4 times in a row on PP: two of these did fortunately have a lucky bounce from Oilers players so that Jets got the puck back, but the other two were just turnovers.

Overall Jets were really balanced, and Copp made Lowry line effective again.

I hate those offside reviews, when the goal is not result of an offside rush. NHL should have some 5 second rule to end that bull****: no reviews, if that offside happened 5 seconds before the goal.

The review is worse in the arena with 15k fans going crazy than it is at home with the wife ignoring the game.

I would go for your 5 sec rule. If the linesmen miss it and 5 secs elapse - play stands.

Or, I would go for leaving it up to the linesmen. Not perfect, but better than having all these goals disallowed.

I can agree on all 3 at once.

we do have lots of firepower.

but you can never have too much grit.

as an example, it may be too much but I would smile if Maurice grabbed a stick and speared say corey perry, just because he is a dick

With all due respect........your take is insane.

We don't have nearly enough firepower to compensate for playing players who can hit but can't play hockey.

I’m pretty jazzed about 9-17-28. Those guys created some nice space for Rosie and he ran with it, played with great confidence and energy. That line can do some damage and not just defensively.

CLT except instead of tenacity, Tanev has high-end skill, and upside on top of it.

Swoon.

Amazing how Copp can make each line he plays on a good line. Adding Little makes a difference and Copp and Lowry look like their old selves.
Great win last night, we need to play boring hockey more often. Helly needed a shut out last night to keep the confidence soaring even more.

I don’t think the second line with Copp was good. Glad he’s off of it.

Woke up this morning, and was sure the game was still on when I read 0-0 with sleepy eyes.

Holy bejeebus, shutting out the Oilers with that D is a friggin miracle!
Go Jets Go..

btw, not that it is a problem, just curious, how come Ehlers never gets to shoot penalties? He was pretty good in Halifax and for the NT.

Look at Ehlers success rate on breakaways.

Not sure how many 2 on 1's the ol' heart can take in the O.T. .

Jets were bloody sloppy on line changes during OT. They need to clean up those switches...ideally when they have extended possession.

The micromanaging of calls in all sports is ridiculous.
Make the calls in real time and leave it be.
Even worse are reviews that take 10 minutes.
Replays aren’t infallible look how many times on NFL broadcasts that an ex referee doesn’t even agree with the on field ruling.
In hockey broadcasters get it wrong when discussing reviews... take this out of sports please.

I'm not quite there yet, but I'm coming around to this way of thinking. The officials are part of the game. They have never been and will never be perfect. But this is all because of a very few really egregious errors. Not worth it to avoid those so rare incidents.

I'm now in the 'Keep Heinola' camp as well. He skates out of trouble very well, and adds a dynamic to our back end that is very positive.

I know that the Jets know from the inside what is best for him, but my opinion is that he doesn't have anything to learn at a level lower than the NHL.

I think a short stint in the AHL would benefit him. I also think he would dominate there.

For 1-0 shootout win the game was highly entertaining in person.
The high level of skill was on full display.
For a Sunday night game the crowd was somewhat lively.
Good times.
I think it was the lack of whistles that Really made for such a great game. It makes a difference having 5 to 7 minutes of playing between whistles.

Even the replay call was less than a minute.

With the ridiculous scoring talent we have on this team, it’s just a matter of time before we start putting up some big numbers. Hopefully that shootout snipe will give Laine the confidence he needs to shoot more.

It's fun that we get **** on all over the main boards but the moment we start fighting back, there's a big bold message telling us all to stop. How come the big bold message doesn't appear until we respond to the potshots at our city and team?

I remember when I use to care what people on the main board thought and said. Then I decided to take the sage advice from the philosopher EK9

Connor’s been bumping into guys all season long. He’s getting his man muscles.

And boy has Roslovic been better this year, I’m quite fond of his game right now, especially after having basically written him off last year.

I like Ros on the wing - he works well along the boards, especially on zoned entries, and plays a pretty good D game when he isn't saddled with trying to cover the slot in his own end.
I also like the fact that his game has opened up a lot since being on the wing - I don't see him as a play maker (yet) and the pressures off, to some extent, when he was moved to the wing.
He may very well mature into a decent center, but for now, I'd let him play the game he's playing on the wing.

I’ll say one nice thing about the Oil (with my nose plugged). That backhand pass by Drai in OT to spring McD on the breakaway was a thing of wonder.
