Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

I know it might create a fire-storm, but I think Heinola has been disappointing, all things considered. The caveat is that most players drafted around his spot (#20) or later have been disappointing.

Lucius was promising, but injuries have perhaps cratered his career.

I don't mind the rest of the picks, yet (Perfetti, McGroarty, Lambert, Barlow). Barlow might be the most iffy based on his regular season, but he's off to a strong playoff start. Maybe just needed a jolt of motivation in his 4th full junior season.

I am disappointed with Heinola as well. One challenge is Winnipeg has been in a win now mode and it has created less room for prospects to get games in the NHL for the past 3 years. Samberg and Perfetti fought their way in which is nice. Not sure how this next wave will do?

I’m not sure how we can be disappointed with Heinola if he’s sitting on the bench every game.
He was the best defenceman on the Moose for the last couple years and looked good in two training camps.
Some bad luck with injuries, but really it’s hard to be disappointed if he hasn’t been given a chance yet.

Down the drain for Lucius ….. with the rest of the bath water.

Why did the Toronto- torian through $220 down the out house pooper..
He had previously dropped a Lonnie down the hole and he wanted to make it worth his while getting dirty!

No use wasting good $ after Bad $ on Lucius …..

Our 1 st ever Bust of a 1 st round pick since we returned = not 1 NHL game played.
Feel bad for Lucius and as sad Wyatt Johnston was picked 5 picks later!

I would say KVes was our first bust but I am splitting hairs I guess. We tried him for 53 games in 21-22 and he had 6 points and that was it for him. I consider him a bust but it depends on the criteria I guess.
Stanley is a bust given we wasted a first rounder and a high second rounder to draft him near the middle of the 2016 NHL draft. Would he actually have played around 200 games of mostly poor quality with anyone else?

There's not much room on the 3rd pair for an offensive guy and there's already an offensive defenseman on each of the top 2 pairs. One of the 3rd pairing guys needs to be able to kill penalties too, so that hurts Heinola too.

I'm still unsure why Heinola can't kill penalties. We already use other offensive guys on the pk like JoMo and Pionk.

I'd still prefer to have three balanced pairings. One puck mover/offensive guy on each pairing and one defensive guy on each pairing.

Heinola and Schenn makes a ton of sense. It's exactly what Ville needs for a partner and it's a strong puck mover for Schenn who is pretty mediocre in that area.

Whether Ville reaches a top 4 level is another discussion but he has shown he his easily ready for sheltered 3rd pair duty in flashes. I think next year that will be a top option for Arniel to look at.

Puck retrievals would be my guess
