Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

Saturday prospect results:

OHL:

WHL:

AHL:

There are a few prospects who started the season extremely slowly and stayed that way a long time but are now coming around in a big way. OTTOMH, Wagner, Loponen, Nehring have all suddenly started producing at very high levels. Barlow is not quite in that group but he certainly improved quite a lot after a disappointing start to the season. All in all, Jets prospects pool is looking deep as well as pretty strong.

Even on a bad team 4 goals has to be seen as a massive disappointment.
I still a lot of this is shooting luck. He's not a 3.5% shooter in terms of talent. If he was more into his expected range of shooting % he'd be among the team leaders in goals. Just a weird season. I'm still not sure he's a difference maker, but that's more because the Moose have looked so dysfunctional overall.

But the Jets retain quite a bit of depth and variety among F prospects, so I think they'll have at least one or two emerge as good middle-6 F options.

There is some of that but he shoots from the outside too much. Not scoring much if your rarely shooting from the slot.

I note on eliteprospects that he is not signed for next season in the KHL. Hopefully he’s thinking about coming over here.
I don't think it's too likely that Rashevsky comes over, but his current D+6 NHLe of 0.486 is the 6th best of any Jet-drafted prospect, behind Scheifele (1.038), Connor (0.891), Ehlers (0.800), Little (0.632) and Morrissey (0.486).

So he's scoring at a decent clip in the KHL (4 years in a row, now) and could possibly be a 40 point middle-6 guy in the NHL.

Ive never been Lambert's biggest optimistic but on a team as terrible as the Moose... especially with his play style being a facilitator. You have to think his output is being hurt at least 50% vs a more normal situation. Maybe more in the goals column specifically. Guys like him operate at their best with players who create space for them and are skilled enough to finish and set him up sometimes. Throw in confidence lows he has shown here and there... he will be fine if/when he walks into the right role on our team.

I think he does come over, chevy was talking to him this summer and trying to get him over for this year, the past 2 contracts he signed mid season and that has yet to happen

I don't think he is willing to play in the AHL and I don't think he can win a job with the Jets.

Really depends on who they are able to bring back. we've got a number of UFAs that are scheduled to ship off this off-season. I can see Appleton and Iafallo being replaced, and Ehlers will likely not be back either.

True. I doubt he could find a place on this year's Jets. Next year's edition could have plenty of room.

Zhilkin has also turned it around and is now producing regularly. Wonder if it took him a while to get over the injury he suffered.

Sucks for Lucius. He's looked good in some very limited opportunities (World Juniors, WHL, Moose), but if he can't stay healthy, that makes it extremely hard.

I can't imagine how injured and in pain you have to be though to possibly retire at his age and possibly being close to the NHL. Even just a few seasons in the NHL would make a huge difference financially. Must be gut retching.

He maybe should take 1 year off. Not doing rehab and just live a normal life for a year. After that take a final decision, if he believes his body can play or just move on. Maybe should return to collage and study..

What is Spinorama Hockey? Are they a legitimate source?

If they are, it sucks for Lucius, but honestly I cannot imagine how mentally draining it has to be to have all that natural talent, and have to spend all your time rehabbing from injuries. I've done the latter part, without the former, and that was a big reason I stopped playing both times I did.

Lucius has a ton of talent and I think he would have been one of the better players from that draft if he hadn't been hit by all the injuries.
I had hoped it was Justin Williams 2.0 and as he matured, he could overcome the injuries and string together some healthy productive seasons. Too bad if this is true. Definitely had the talent to become a useful 2nd line caliber player.
