Walton and He being friends and former teammates is awesome.
So you’re saying these two guys who grew up together (ish) are both encouraging each other and having career years? And they were drafted by the same NHL team? AND they’re both looking like people id want to try on the moose next year with Barlow? (Can you imagine 2 prospect lines that are our scoring lines?)

That sounds like a 19-20 year old’s dream job. Playing hockey with my friends.

Jets prospect pool catching the eye of the Athletic. Top 15 at least for a team that has been in a pick deficit is impressive. No A/A+ blue chip guys, but the depth of the guys that should play NHL games runs deep. All comes down the development staff now. We should have a good outlook for future if we can figure out how to turn these guys into NHLers.

Yep.

And mebbe turn one of them into a centre. Preferably that elusive 2C that, like Nessie or that pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow, the Jets have chased and missed since 2017.

Yeah finding diamonds in the rough is a lot of skills and luck involved. If we are able to build a solid pool of guys who can contribute as depth on their 2nd contracts, or as trade chips, that's still a success overall.

Team needs can change quickly as well so it's nice to have an array of different player types capable of stepping in to prove themselves.

Murat has a piece in The Athletic that suggests that Chevy thinks Walton could be developed into a C. I think he has the speed and skills to do that, but he'll need to develop the consistency and mindset to play a 200 foot game.
