Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

Flames fan here coming in peace...

So I live in Lethbridge and as I' sure you all know Yager was traded here to teh Hurricanes a little before the WJC... well he's involved in a new charitable initiative with the team and SRI Homes (they make manufactured homes), it's called "Yager-bombs" and for every point he gets, SRI makes a donation to the Alzheimer's Society... my friend works for SRI and said that the company wanted a different charity but Yager insisted it be the Alzheimer's Society as he recently lost his grandfather wo had Alzheimer's.

Very cool story. Thanks for sharing.

Walton has 66 points. Sudbury has 136 goals.

Just a factor on a casual 48.5% of the team's goals.

As @Buffdog said, not all of his points are a result of some amazing play, but all other players in the OHL are playing against those same goalies, and arguably with better teammates, and are failing to produce the numbers Walton is.
What are checking lines like in the OHL? Assuming Big Walt is playing against top lines every shift.

Faily non existent. He would match up against the teams top D on the road but at home they probably get him out against the younger lines because you can exploit them that way. Either way what he is doing is impressive

Just from looking back at guys drafted later but go on to successful careers they seem to explode the year after there 1st draft eligible. Most of them don't get drafted that first year but get drafted in D+1. We just nabbed him in his draft year.

I really can't see him not developing into an NHL player at this point

So what is going on with Barlow and Lucius?. Barlow was not even invited to the WJC, and his production has really declined. Lucius has been hurt, but his numbers look less than impressive.

Will they join Vesalainen as the Jets 1st round busts?
I'm concerned that Barlow hasn't seemed to expand his game. He might just be stagnating at the OHL level, but I also expected more at the Jets' camp and in the national team try outs. He did have lingering injury issues last season, so maybe he's still needing to get in a couple of strong summers of training to improve his quickness and strength. I still think he has NHL potential, but he's dropped in my estimation.

Lucius' main issue has been health, do his most important stat at this point is games played. Nobody is producing much on the Moose. They are awful. I have seen enough of his talent, including this season, that I think that if he stays healthy and adds strength he will be a strong NHL prospect. He's so smart and skilled.

Do you seen him as more of a middle sixer or does he have top line upside? Center or winger?

Don't have the tweet handy but saw that the Young Stars Tournament is no more (thanks Vancouver ).

Wonder if the Jets will find some new teams to do something similar?
