Lucius scored a nice backhand goal early in the 3rd.
If you're choosing Canadians just because they're Canadians then you're doomed for worse. You take the best player. It’s a matter of where you put your scouting resources, and if you’re ignoring the top hockey power in the world you are doomed to mediocrity.
Meanwhile, nice goal by Latvia!
I’m saying you need scouts in the best hockey country in the world and I don’t think the Jets do. It’s highly suspicious that the best available player when the Jets draft is very rarely Canadian. And other than Perfetti, when was the last time we had a prospect who looked high end at the NHL level? If you're choosing Canadians just because they're Canadians then you're doomed for worse. I very much doubt they randomly decided to just not scout canada... when you pick lower in the draft the odds of getting a high end player are much lower, our first picks in the drafts before perfetti were 20th 60th and 24thI’m saying you need scouts in the best hockey country in the world and I don’t think the Jets do. I think I read that the bulk of their scouts don’t scout the Canadian junior leagues. But whether that’s right or wrong their prospects have been mostly “meh” the past several years.I very much doubt they randomly decided to just not scout canada... when you pick lower in the draft the odds of getting a high end player are much lower, our first picks in the drafts before perfetti were 20th 60th and 24th
we've had the fewest picks in the nhl the past few years and it's far to early to judge them right now anywaysI think I read that the bulk of their scouts don’t scout the Canadian junior leagues. But whether that’s right or wrong their prospects have been mostly “meh” the past several years.

The Jets heavily scout the Dub, O and USHL. They likely could use a bigger presence in the Q though as we barely pick from there.
The league in which the Jets draft the most players is the WHL with 16 players picked. That is almost as many picks as the toa picks the Jets have used in Europe.
The Jets draft quite well in the USHL so they use a lot of picks there (14). They also are successful in the OHL and have used 10 picks.
What time period? Since 2011? I was referring mainly with the past five years or so.The Jets heavily scout the Dub, O and USHL. They likely could use a bigger presence in the Q though as we barely pick from there.

is beyak calling some games? thought he was retiring to international tournaments only ?
Talking Canadian presence, not North American presence.Last 5 years:
6 from Sweden
5 from OHL
5 from USHL
3 from Finland
2 from Russia
2 from BCHl
1 from WHL
1 from Eastern Europe
Still a pretty heavy NA presence.
Seems like pretty balanced drafting. Take BPA no matter where they are from.Last 5 years:
