People ragging on Connor? Weird takeaway

That's the way it works on HFJets boards - someone must take the blame.

But if you ever wonder why plays sometimes go offside, it's because the puck carrier is making too many moves or moving too slow.
It's one of those outliers where the play was moving in slo-mo and KC was barely moving - the only thing moving slower was the puck carrier as he decides to take aim while straddling the blue line.

Really tough way to lose a game but I wouldn't bury a player who scored a couple, set up another and played a nice game.

Unless of course, we need to blame someone.

I said that even when we had our big-big boys with Buff, Enstrom, Mo, Trouba, etc that we STILL couldn’t defend work a lick and that the upgrades on the backend with Dillon and Schmidt, though it was tough for our backend to get worse, won’t make a difference. Lucky for us, those upgrades only eliminates excuses for Maurice so he can finally hitch a ride on the next greyhound out of town(given we don’t have an airport… stupid PC party)
We don't have a Greyhound either. Guess he's staying.

Wrong, the Wild dominated.

Yeah we played a good first but they started taking over from there and were the better team the back half.

It was a joke, Beau only played 4 minutes and Svexh 6. It seems Moe is just going to run our topine into the ground yet again to start the year.

Maurice is usually so good at dividing the time equally between the four lines. This is so unlike him to run the first line into the ground.
But I guess everyone deserves a second chance and we all make mistakes occasionally. Maurice is no exception.
I know that he will make all the necessary adjustments and have this team ready for the next game.

Bounces like that happen when you play in your zone for 10 straight minutes in the 3rd

Yup. Let's not forget we also got bounces tonight as well. Copp dump bounces to Conner in the slot. The puck bounced favorably to JoMo on his pp goal. We got some breaks as well. You better you play the more breaks you get and the Wild were better.

This isn't your mother's Wild. They are a totally different team now. Up until about 5 minutes into the third that was a great game for the Jets. But boy did the wheels ever fall off and it seemed like Minni got a lot of nice bounces.

Brawlers (those that fought nobly):
-Vesa - Lowry - Harkins: they had several dominant shifts and might have the makings of a shutdown pairing. Mo clearly doesn't trust them with high-stakes defensive situations yet (why else would Scheifs line play the last 2.5 minutes of the game...) but they looked good.
-Connor(?): what a boneheaded play on the empty netter. That kind of lazy play is a real pet peeve of mine but I don't think it completely wipes out the rest of his game and I needed to list someone else here!

Bawlers (those that made me cry):
-Defensive zone play: tons of missed opportunities to clear the puck led to great scoring chances against. As fluky as the Wild's goals were, once again our players weren't boxing out or shutting down second chances. There were also extended stretches of M2M coverage that were very ugly.
-Hellebuyck: he is held to a higher standard than all the other players, and he has not lived up to it. Something is off with him right now.

Basterds (those that confounded):
-Nash: I think he actually was a net positive on the PP. Kept the puck in play, and made some easy passes to keep the play moving. Had a couple missed chances to clear on the defensive end though.
-Maurice: this team would have benefitted from 4 lines of forwards tonight. He also needs to start trusting Dubois and Ehlers later in games. Especially in tonight's.
