until peluso is dressed we probably wont win a game

I would like to see him back in. But lets not get carried away lol. Maybe a Halischuk and Peluso swap Friday, depending on if they call anyone up since Thorburn went on IR. And since we can't score, may as well either try another juggle or go back to the original and try and get LLW going.

Oddly enough, the Blue Bomber offence is actually more potent then the Jets offence right now. Bizarre.

Also, the potential of Peluso dropping his mittens provides an additional intrigue to each game when he plays. I would not be unhappy if he dressed. Even if it only was to be for a 3 minute cameo.

Many positives to take away from this game.

Finally had a very good game from Stuart! Looked like he was head-hunting most of the night...the Habs seemed nervous when they hit the blueline on the PP. At least a few times I saw their forwards pull up as he was protecting the blue line. Easily his best game of the season.

Scheif looked good. He still goes down the second anyone touches him...but is very creative with the puck.

If Laddy could've been a bit less snake-bitten this game, we could've had a real chance of getting it to OT. We needed a finish on his breakaway and a couple of his other chances. Puck was bouncing and we didn't get the breaks.

We're not gonna run into a red-hot goalie every night. If we can play with that same zip and stay relatively healthy, I like our chances. It's a long season.

We have 8 of our first 10 at home. If we are 3-6-1 or worse it is going to be very tough to overcome. We needed to get off to a fast start.

I do not want to dive into the Pavelec pool again lest I be called 'biased' :)

I wouldn't pin this loss on Pav. You have to score to have a chance to win. However, I thought that first goal was pretty weak and if you've played hockey you know that a goal like that can really suck the life out of a team. If Pavelec makes that save? Who knows.

At any rate, that start was inexplicably horrid AGAIN but other than that I actually feel pretty positive about this game. We played plenty well enough to win after getting down 2-0 which is very encouraging.

The most comforting thing is that despite being awful in about 80% of game time so far this season, the Jets are 3-4. It could be much worse. Hoping that the Blues bring out the best in us.

As a matter of fact, considering the Jets have been pretty good for the MOST part in the last 2 games, I'm going to leave the Jets roller going UP

One thing I've noticed ALOT is that when Pavs comes out to challenge shooters he's VERY slow get back deep in his net.

I've noticed that when the puck comes off the boards he's often in a real bad position. I think it led to the first goal.
I don't blame Pavs for the loss, but he has to work on it.

Guys, I'm an habs fan and I have to say that I love Trouba, that kid is simply awesome, you have a diamond in your hands, I think that he will be the best dman of his draft year.

I probably would be better off if I was less emotionally invested in the team. I can handle losing, but not how it takes place... so I find myself in a foul disposition, inevitably leading to times like this where I am wide awake all night staring down the barrel of a long work day in ~ 5 hours that requires lucidity.

Funny thing is, once the team settled in, Pavs, like Monty against NJ, wasn't tested as much and but was good when he needed to be. Made some good and big saves to give us a chance in the 2nd and 3rd. Funny how both goalies look better when the team doesn't look like ****.

Now this is a logical post.
This thread needs more of it.

well my friends, I fear this season is about to become little more than a long hard slog through the muck. I like the fact that we put in a good effort...for the last 2.5 periods. Unfortunately by half way through the first the game was already over. This home stand was our chance to establish a place in the playoffs but at this point, barring a minor miracle...it ain't gonna happen. I took some joy out of the win against NJD, but it was always with the thought "ok now lets see what we can do against a real team" in mind and we didn't really do very well...

The schedule coming up is tough and I don't see us turning things around in any meaningful way. It's looking to me like the Claude Noel era will be over by the end of October...

Yep. :)

But who knows, maybe they get it in gear and start grinding out wins. I'm not really seeing it right now though...

Who had that avatar? They need to wear it again.

Ah yes, that was this one:

...and he scored that game. I think I only had it for two games - 18 and 19. In celebration, I present my new avatar. <<<<

And, I will dubiously co-claim the honour of getting Wheeler going that year with sipowicz, since I'm sure it made a huge difference in Wheeler's play :sarcasm:  ;) ;)

Honestly, a lot of the shots taken were harmless from where they were taken...they are going to have bull rush the net instead of going behind the net...not going to score from above the circle....rush to the front.....and Kane, love his passion, but has to stop taking penalties at most inopportune time...the Habs seemed to have success pressuring our Dmen in the offensive zone....and it does seem the strategy of most teams is to pressure the Jets or not allow any room to make a play with the puck, and results seem to come up for the opposition when this happens. Thought Postma played well enough to have Clitsome sit for a while.

Blake is a quirky guy.......he really thrives on confidence and when he lacks it he just doesn't function well. Not sure I understand it but I have seen the movie a few times before and I think I know where we are heading I just wish we would get there soon.

Sure, the Jets piled up shots in both the Dallas and Montreal home losses. But that'll happen when you're down by 2+ goals early. It's why all of the shots came from the outside, as MTL was in shut-down mode.

These starts are going to be the death of Noel. #noeldeathwatch

 Yeah, but this is with every team. Preds fans didn't even want to play the season after a bad preseason.

100% agree.....I would bet I can cut and paste my post on every teams PGT after a couple of losses and it would be relevant. I intentionally omitted "Jets" from appearing in the post ;)

And if this trend continues, I'll welcome his firing. I've been an ardent Noel supporter, but he hasn't done anything with this team yet. He has the supposed roster now - make it work, Noel.

Tough loss, we need to win these kind of games to make the playoffs. Something has to be done but I don't think that Kevin Cheveldayoff can do anything because his hands are proably tied by ownership.

And around and around we go. Something will have to give here with this team, eventually. Either they figure it out or a change somewhere within the team (coach) or roster (players) may be coming.

If we're looking at a roster move, I am personally hoping we have exactly what a fluttering Eastern Conference team needs and/or wants. I am all for a deal with Philadelphia for Brayden Schenn with Byfuglien going the other way. If that is even realistic or possible.

There may be other parts in the deal, that is likely, salary would have to work, etc.. but I am holding out hope at this point we make a move to shake up the core, changing things a bit. Year 3, and for 3 consecutive years this team is just... the same.
