Yeah, but then he injured his shoulder early last year. And it's lingering. With no end in sight.

I think he should just get whatever surgery is needed and take a year to rehab it. Hopefully by the 2020 playoffs he'll be healthy but it's possible it'll never be 100% and might just be better off retiring or playing in a euro league.

This is soo true. Why doesn't anyone give **** for the Marleau contract which is highly overpaid or Zaitsev. What about the fact that it seems like Marner and Matthews don't seem keen on taking a discount as well. Why should Nylander buckle? Also, I don't care what people say Tavares at $11million is not a discount.
Is this your first time on hfboards? You're accusing leaf fans of not giving shit to the Marleau and Zaitsev contracts? Is this a joke post? Is this real life?

What the f*** is going on?

High flying offense Leafs have scored 5 goals in last 4 games... Yikes... Now our best player is hurt. Nylander is probably a happy man right now.

Patty is looking rough. Regardless of Matthews... this period has been underwhelming.

I expected more after a decent 1st.

It would be a very Leafy thing to have happen :help:.

It was an awkward hit first of all and once you injure an area such as a knee or shoulder in football, hockey etc it's easier to re injure it. Let's not be so grim. He took a lot of big hits this yr before that..I feel like this one was just awkward angle

ok post i responded to asked whether he will ever play a full season, i responded that he has done it already.

Also he hasnt actually missed a game yet looked bad but sometimes its something that hurts the same night next day is fine, its a long shot but he may miss 0 games

Hot take but Marleau wasn't good last year as well. He just got carried and got points. However this year hes fallen off a cliff.

Yeah. If it's really a serious injury.

I remember all of you whining to get Marleau on Matthews wing all of last year.

Maybe give him more than 11 games before trying to force him to retire.

on the bright side, the Leafs are never out in a game. there are some glaring red flags that need to be sorted out when the games matter though
