Injury Report: Jets health in the playoffs

Well that doesnt sound good. Doubt we see either guy in game 1.
Thanks Blues you bunch of c*nts.
can't tell 1 way or another, ehlers was in non-contact the day before game 6 and arneil even said he wasn't going to play but he was in the lineup the next day, we truly don't know anything about injuries and the most telling thing will be the morning skate tomorrow

I have no strong suspicion as to why Morrissey left Game 7...and I usually have an opinion on these things, FWIW. He looks pretty good in practice, however.

What is interesting to me is that he has now twice pulled himself from huge, do-or-die games (this one and 4-nations) and his team has won both without him. In the first instance, he pulled himself before the game and in the game 7 he walked off on his own steam after just playing a few minutes.

To be clear, I say this with great respect. As I've noted previously, unlike M Tkachuk, he subordinated his personal aggrandizement to the best interests of the team in the 4-Nations.

Interesting to imagine how the Jets would have fared in Game 7 if he had tried to grind it out for the rest of the first period...down another goal, maybe?
Interesting take. You think he just gets too worked up? He really wasn't very good all through the St Louis series. Look at how impressive Fleury was in his role, just confident and skating around everyone.

Would like to see Morrissey get his swagger back.

I think NHL d-men love to play in a five-player rotation - and in a game seven or similar game, knowing you're on a shorter rotation probably has you developing good habits.

This is a 100 per cent dumb and silly comparison, and I hate myself for typing it, but the best beer league D-men know how to play when only 8 guys show up, lol - They're just as good, they just play smarter - Heck, I was an AWFUL beer league D-man, but some of my best games were in that situation.

Obviously not the same, but the change in approach with a forced five-man rotation in the NHL causes a positive change in mindset in the entire group I think.

Your "I'm the best player ever, I'm going to be the hero" instinct that every professional athlete has to have to even get to the NHL or succeed at any professional level gets suppressed, which can be a good thing in game sevens specifically.

Fleury is miles better... until he isn't

His whole season was either amazing or dogshit

With Stan, you know what you're getting

Yeah, people forget he was very uneven this year. He started out great and then really fell off hard. He was then up and down before having that amazing game the other day.

He's been a journeyman dmen for a reason.

Yeah, recency bias and Stanley Derangement Syndrom can cloud people's opinions pretty easily

Stanley - Miller was statistically the best 3rd pairing we had all season

But they’re not sitting Schenn because he’s the vet who cost a 2nd round pick. So Stanley has to sit because that pairing is a massive liability.

He is horrible almost every game. So ya, we know what you are getting.
Playoffs so far.... (edit: 5v5)

It’s crazy it’s as if ppl want Stan to fail so they can be right.
Even if it’s just the coaches, who led team to top of league insisting on Stan playing he’ll be in at some point in round.

I’m more concerned with Helly than I am with Stan who will play 10 minutes a game.

I don't want him to fail, I don't even want to give him a chance to fail. We have better options.
