Looks like he's progressing through the concussion return to play protocol
View attachment 1028805
If there's a morning skate tomorrow and he's OK, I bet he's cleared
I'd be surprised if he wasn't in the line up tomorrow
Yeah, there's a huge riskI'd be surprised if he got back in that soon. Maybe you put him on the bench, for inspiration on the PP, like Turgeon was when the Isles beat the Pens in 1993, on Ray Ferraro's play. But jeez you can't help but think he's in a world of hurt if he gets rocked again, and how do you protect him? Blues are predatory.
Ok, and say the Jets win. Does he play game 1 of round 2?If it's me I go cautious and sit 55 out one more game. Live and die by next man up.
has anyone thought that maybe just maybe we actually don't know what the injury actually is? it's like with ehlers everyone guessing and a new theory popping up every week
If it is a concussion then even if he is feeling good and passing all tests, he is a no go for the next game. That is non-negotiable as per the NHL protocol on concussions. Each step in the protocol requires a minimum amount of observation time before a player can be moved into the next step. Even in the best case scenario where if the player had no symptoms the next morning it takes about a week to get through all the steps of the process. Doesn't matter if the Jets doctors give him a clean bill of health he won't be able to play if it was a concussion.
If that's the case though is Arniel allowed to say he's a game-time decision? Are they any rules regarding how they report injuries?

Is there another upper body injury that can knock someone out of a game but only have them potentially miss one more?has anyone thought that maybe just maybe we actually don't know what the injury actually is? it's like with ehlers everyone guessing and a new theory popping up every week
Yep. Everyone is just guessing. Some are even speculating on injury return protocols to an unknown injury. All we know is the coach said he is a game time decision tomorrow. And since not one of us can add even an ounce of factual information beyond that it is all we got. And I will take it.Well we don’t know because they never revealed that information. People are just guessing & making inferences. But we’ve never “actually” known
Either way, game time decision is a positive development.
This relates to a question I was going to ask ( for anyone ) re concussion protocol. If it is a concussion then even if he is feeling good and passing all tests, he is a no go for the next game. Yes, there are strict rules, which is why Scheifele cannot have been diagnosed with a concussion per se.If that's the case though is Arniel allowed to say he's a game-time decision? Are they any rules regarding how they report injuries?
