Not much in the way of emotion and energy. I guess you can't be fired up every night. They have a couple of days to regroup and come back with a better effort on Friday.

Wheeler, Scheifele and Ehlers really need to step their games up.

They lost one game. This certainly was not a life or death contest.

The inductions were nice, congrats to Randy Carlyle and Thomas Steen.

The Jets played like the old Jets though in those heritage unis. Passing off scoring chances, and sloppy in their own end.

#8 in Blue and Red had a pretty tough night. The Rangers skill exposed our defense. Meanwhile the Rangers defense gave up shots but not too many 2nd chances. That was shades of Khabibulin on the other side.

Hope we mix up the defense going forward

I'd maybe go with

Morrissey-Poolman
Kulikov-Pionk
Beaulieu-Sbisa

Mix the speed and size.

Perreault and Chibisov for Bourque and Shaw would be a nice change too.

Can't win them all. A couple of days rest and practice should help. Need to earn some Ws to stay in the hunt.

Thoughts and prayers for Jay Bowmeester, hope he is ok.

Jets PP formation is like a ritualistic candle placement of a satanistic floor pentagram. Nicely symmetric, and predictable.

4 PK clerics is pretty much all you need and enough for cutting bloodlines between each candles, only a movement of few feet is sufficient for interrupting the ritual.

Worst of it is that the ritual has been performed largely unchanged already a while without any remarkable revisions to the codex.

I honestly think the jets do best when they come out and get physical. If they aren’t hitting and playing with emotion, then they just look lackluster.

Well .... I think the Jet's put out a good effort, peppering the Ranger Goaltender with about 41 shots. Can't get much more firepower than that

Here's where the game was lost -- IMO

1) Helle playing the puck out of his net -- gifted them a goal. Maurice should tell him "do not" handle the puck unless absolutely necessary.

2) Niku making some bad defensive decisions- cost us goals.

3) Helle let in a softy on the 3rd goal right between his legs

4) Also --let's not forget Laine hit the post 2 times -- this could have been different.

If these stupid mistakes were not made, we'd have been right in that game. We sure need another D-man --someone with size and strength IMO. Losing 4 D-men is really showing up. Needs to be fixed.

Many may not agree -- but this game was lost by foolish mistakes -- not a lack of effort.

Beaulieu was awful. Made a bad play with the puck almost every time I noticed him. Niku needs to step it up, his offensive game isn't good enough for him to have a game like that in the neutral and the d zone.

Gift of a goal with less than a minute left in the 1st. Cant wait to never see Kuli in a Jets uniform after this year. Absolute hot garbage.

Then the special teams take over where we are at a disadvantage (arguably) due to having a TV broadcaster as a coach.

Very winnable game turned opportunity lost.
