I also feel like I must apologize for being so negative in the GDT. Usually I don't post much in the GDT but I don't think I have ever been this pissed off by a game... even during the Noel era. This literally ruined my mood for the evening and likely for tomorrow as well
Dude cheer up. It’s ok it really is, just don’t go outside for a couple weeks!:)

I'm the same way, it's so incredibly frustrating watching this team, especially after how they made a huge step last year and now it seems like it's going backwards again

Extremely gracious of you to say. At the end of the day, it's still millionaires and billionaires playing with their toys and we're privileged enough to get to watch. Even if the performance was probably the worst in months.

No need to feel bad, Jets have been deserving of it for awhile now.

One last thought- that one camera shot during the scrum involving Domi near game end sure showed the size difference between the players on the ice at the time. Jets looked comparatively huge vs the size of the Habs.

Habs are really small. They have like 3, or 4 forwards over 6'0. Kotkaniemi being one of those forwards. Armia, Deslauriers are the others. I think there might be 1 more, but Drouin, Domi, Danault, Tatar, Gallagher, Shaw, Byron are all under 6'0. As are Peca and Hudon who rotate into the like up.

Chaput/Agostino one of them might be above 6'0.

It seems we missed Morrissey even more than we missed Byfuglien. That's one takeaway. Morrissey is the heart and soul of the D-core, I was sure of it before tonight and am even more convinced tonight.

My take away is that Morrow should not be on the ice with this team and Chairot is a part time player, Chevy get to work Maurice do the right thing

So what I'm saying is, by all means, have the salty aftertaste in your mouth, but at the end of the day, I'm hard pressed to see why it should make your tomorrow shitty by default.

Even if you find "tomorrow's another game" to be a bit cloying, I think "tomorrow's another day" is a good one to remember.

Lemiuex Copp Laine please

Onto Ottawa.

Come on Jets show Duchene next game how good you are. :)

i agree Phil Jet -- sitting out there on the beach ( where it's hot). We need to put up a good show in Ottawa, to convince Duchene to join the Jets. We need him !!!

Terrible gap control, turnovers galore, weak one-handed chips at the puck that don't gain possession or advance the puck out of our zone. Slow confused looking power-play. Lots of standing around and possession was as lopsided as any game I can remember. One of the worst eye-test and fancy stat games in months. Recall that game against the Oilers where we had like 90 shot attempts or something? Felt like we were on the receiving end of that tonight. Non-competitive affair for 55 minutes.

I just want Brossoit to start the next two games, then Helly when we get home. I mean I do realize we play the Sens, but Brossoit deserves the next two starts.

Will say the Jets did play well and Montreal was playing their best hockey all season. I expect teams are going to be very hard on us going forward.

Hmmm...I don’t know!?!

Is it the injuries? Is it the coaching? Is it a lack of pure hunger and drive on the players? A big, messy combination??? I’m confused.

I really can't understand how a team of this caliber puts up such a bad effort. Maybe we aren't as good as we think we are? Maybe the fact that the West is a Trainwreck is what's elevating record? People who want to mortgage our future on this hockey team needs their head examined

Lol ... this Jets HF would ripped apart the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for losing 8 games the whole season.
Seriously one team plays their best game of the season and the other team plays one of the worst and this is what happens ... its only one game.

I’m really very surprised Joe Morrow is a former 1st round pick considering how bad he is out there

I waive the white flag.:surrender This team is not a contender, a 1st round exit most likely the way they are playing. Getting blown out in these next few games wouldn't be the worst thing in the world so that some desperately needed changes are made before it's too late to recover.

Connor is a higher scoring young Drew Stafford who is somehow worse defensively than Stafford was. Horrendous showing for Wheeler. Pukeworthy game by that line.

Trade Myers and Chiarot at the deadline for picks and prospects. We can get a 1st for Myers!

I don't ever want to see Morrow in a Jets jersey ever again.

Positives:

Laine played well. Good comeback effort by him.

Glad we didn't score on PPs. The sooner we turf his new PP decisions, the better it is long term of this club.

Helle did his best considering the circumstances.
Laine did not play well. He had some nice plays. But on so many occasions he just did fly by's. Almost 21 and still cant get it thru his head if he has no one to pass to shoot it in. No compete in his game at all. That last pp was the most embarrassing effort from Laine I have seen. Standing straight up waiving his stick around. Pathetic. Agreed on them being 1st round fodder. They have played maybe 10 all round good games all year. Maybe 10. Chariots worst game ever. He was bad.
