I really don’t think we’re having deep discussions about this group if the bottom 6 gives us more, which isn’t unreasonable to expect. About 30 goals this year for the bottom 6, you add 20 goals to that and this team is in very good position. The top guys have held their own.

Fix the bottom 6 and this team is in a solid position. The defense is solid and the goaltending is too.

I guess we’ll see!

The thing about the goaltending is Markstrom doesn't go back to back years recently of consistency. He's either good one year and sucks ass the next. This is the worst I've felt about this team in a looooooong time mainly because of who's in charge.

I agree that the fix is relatively simple, unfortunately we had a GM who, despite being one of the busiest in the league apparently behind the scenes, couldn't get anything done to bolster the offense.

The top of the group hasn't been good in two months either. I think they are getting too much of a pass for 2+ months of collapse.

Holtz was a complete bust pick at 7OA (could have drafted Rossi, Perfetti, Jarvis or Lundell). It doesn’t look promising at the moment for 2OA, Nemec. For a kid who was hyped as having such poise, hockey IQ and a high floor, I don’t see any of that. When I think about who we could have drafted and missed out on, it really infuriates me. The makeup of this team could be so wildly different, for example, if we just drafted Rossi over Holtz. I find it very hard to believe (then again, with these scouts who knows) that they had Holtz ranked higher than Rossi. DO NOT DRAFT BASED ON NEED. TAKE THE BEST DAMN PLAYER AVAILABLE!!

There has to be accountability for the awful drafting and roster that Fitzgerald assembled. Does he even deserve to be back for another season? Questionable at best. That seat SHOULD be awfully warm but ownership seems to love him.

Boys really stepped up in this one. They could have been shutout, but they toughed it out and scored a goal. Good on them. I think they can carry this momentum to possibly two goals in a few of the next 18 games.

Team is cooked right now and have nothing left mentally. The core pieces are there and they’re a good group. Defensively they’re solid, goaltending is there.

Just fix the freaking bottom 6. That’s the biggest glaring issue. Add 20-25 goals to the bottom 6 and this team is 2nd in the division and most likely cooking.

31 goals given up since 2nd feb, the last 10 games. Trending the wrong way.

Bottom 6 is the primary reason for our woes this season, but stars underperforming is secondary and shite 5v5 play (from mostly everyone) is tertiary.

Heading into next season with 37 year old Markstrom with one year left on his contract, what a vibe.
