Comeau spent his last shift trying to run every Jet on the ice. No sympathy for any of them tonight, they got what they asked for.
I did not dislike Chiarot tonight, mark the calendar.
It’s not the first game I have not disliked him lately. That is a step forward and I will enjoy it while it lasts.
Didn't catch the game...how did our new third line look?
Btw, seeing how effective Patty is on PP...should we start to play him on both PPs...at least at times?

I liked everything about the Jets last night including that line. Felt like they had a bit more room so maybe that slightly softer match up is ideal “for now”. I know after the first period they all had pretty high ice time as well (before the penalties in the 2nd).
That line looked good - Copp doing a bunch of lunchbox stuff to dig the puck out for Laine and Ehlers. I think this line would be fine even on the road where you don't get the matchups. Worst case scenario, they get matched hard, and CSW and/or PLR feast.
It's quite a "3rd" line (in quotes, as their TOI wasn't that of a 3rd line - they were 1st in TOI in fact).
Roslovic is so interesting I have been trying to figure out why he seems different and I think I have it. Most talented rookies can score or set up goals when they have quality chances but they often struggle with the rest of their game. Defense, positioning, routes, forecheck, back pressure etc....that stuff takes time.
Rosie is the reverse.....he is a bit snake bitten on the points and they are almost a lagging indicator compared to the rest of his game. He is not flawless but the kid is advanced in his play without the puck.

That was a statement game.
A young player doesn’t try to pick a fight during a very one sided game and not expect push back.
Buff was awesome and I had no problems with the response.
Often we criticize Buff for his play and attitude but certainly that was not the case last night.
Buff is a huge part of the room and his response in essence is a signal to the rest of the league going forward that this team will not be pushed around.
Great win and a galvanizing moment in the Jets season.
The other thing about Roslovic is that he's very strong on his skates, so he's very effective in the corners and in traffic. Add that to his very good quickness and speed, his very quick processing of the game, and his puck skills and you have a top-6 type of winger. His impact on the game is actually very similar to Perreault's, as has been noted. His style and effectiveness makes him an asset on any type of line.I agree completely. Very smart player, very good skater, and seems to be very well positioned most of the time. Probably a credit to Vincent and the Moose - seems polished beyond his years/experience.
He's offensively talented, so as you note, I'm not overly worried about him putting pucks in the back of the net. He's so well positioned that he's getting chances - he's shown a proclivity for scoring in the past, so he'll eventually start converting those chances.
I picked him as my dark horse to make a difference with the Jets this year.
Yup. As Maurice noted in his post-game interview, Buff has played a quieter game, picking his spots for offensive forays more judiciously. I think he's calmed down since the goals / points started coming. This style of Buff can play very effectively for a few more years, and I think he could be a force in the playoffs.Nicely said. I have been one of those who suffers living on the fence with respect to assessment of Byfuglien's play.
Currently, I get the sense that Buff has tweaked and altered his game in during the past month. After the point (in the murky depths of December/January of 2017) where he made a few gaffes in the 0-zone, a poorly timed pinch, etc, the usual "bad" Buff assortment of goodies, it feels like Maurice told him to stop stretching for the goals - the goals will come - play to your strengths - something like that. And I think there was a major reduction in ice-time when Trouba went to the de facto first pairing. I'm not a psychiatrist, but I guess all of this (if I am right?) could be humbling stuff with a guy of Buff's psychology.
Somehow, some of that experience has tempered his play.
He has taken that wide-open-Superman-hold-off-a-guy- with-your-arm-and-lets-have-a-jolly-good-time-and-dance- around-the-crease-hell-yes-I-can-wraparound-oh-no-holy-suffering-mother-of-Mary-they-have-a-breakaway part of his game down a notch - just a few ticks. And, far more importantly, he has revved up his defensive game. I love a good stat as much as anyone, but this is simply my honest impression.

Roslovic actually seems more composed, while bringing the same speed and tenacity on the puck. I think Roslovic is just scratching the surface of his skillset at this point. Connor is on pace for about 25 goals and almost 50 points as a rookie. He's also learned how to be quick and tenacious on the puck. With a bit more strength and experience, he's going to be deadly. The Jets have ridiculous young talent and depth at forward.Yep. His "Forecheck-fu" is strong, similar to Perreault. Doesn't quite have the "Danger! Danger! Will Robinson!" reckless abandon of Perreault, but gets on the puck quickly. Connor has this trait as well - nothing like highly skilled "grinders" who can skate, score and dig for pucks. Good combo.
